Some people live with this everyday of their life and those around them think they are fine. Truth is they have learned to hide and mask the pain they live in constantly. I have learned in this business that everyone grieves differently and that is perfectly ok, we just need to remain caring with compassionate support. ❤️🙏

The moment you see your father lying there, the world breaks in a way nothing can ever fix.

You don’t understand grief until that moment.
Until the man who once felt larger than life
suddenly feels impossibly small.
Until the hands that guided you,
protected you,
and held your world together
are resting in silence.

There are no words that prepare you for that goodbye.
No strength strong enough to stop your heart
from collapsing inward.
You stand there,
trying to remember his voice,
his laugh,
the way he made everything feel safe
and suddenly safety feels gone forever.

Grief doesn’t come all at once.
It comes in waves.
In memories you didn’t ask for.
In moments you thought you were okay.
In the quiet when you realize
you can’t call him anymore.
You can’t hear his advice.
You can’t see his smile when you need it most.

Losing a father changes you.
It steals something you can never get back
a part of your childhood,
a part of your strength,
a part of your identity.
You learn to smile again,
to function again,
but you are never the same person you were before.

Some days you’re strong.
Other days the ache is unbearable.
You grieve the man he was,
the moments you shared,
and the moments that will never happen.
The conversations that ended too soon.
The love that still exists,
but has nowhere to go.

Grief isn’t weakness.
It’s love that had no warning.
Love that didn’t get enough time.
Love that still lives on,
even when the person is gone.
And if loving him this much hurts,
it’s only because he mattered this deeply.

You don’t “move on” from a father.
You learn how to carry him with you
in your heart,
in your choices,
in the quiet strength he left behind.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever a part of who you are.
