While cheering on his fiancée at the Akron Marathon, off-duty nurse practitioner Dan Molnar jumped two barricades to help a collapsed runner near the finish line.

He performed CPR for several minutes—twice—until the runner’s pulse came back for good.

Molnar’s actions can be described as heroic, but he downplays the praise.

“I don’t feel like I’m a hero at all. I’m just happy that I was there. I feel like I did what any other healthcare person would do,” he said.

If it’s time for you or the staff at your clinic to renew their BLS certification, look no further.

In my nine years as an American Heart Association Instructor in the Atlanta metro and surrounding areas training this vital and necessary skill, I have never increased my fee.

I have certified countless physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, RNs, LPNs, medical assistants, CNAs and sleep techs!

I make is simple, easy, interactive, fun, affordable and the best part…I come to you!

This is the blended way…online learning and in person check offs.

Each individual would go purchase the online part for $37 from the American Heart Association website and watch the videos and take the test.
It takes about an hour or so to complete. They can log in and out and pick up where they left off.
Here is the link.

When the individual passes the test, they can email the heart code certificate to me. Then, I come out to their clinic, house, park, etc. and conduct check offs with the mannequin and equipment. Remember, I am mobile and come to you. Each check off takes about 15-20 min per person.

My fee is only $75 per person!!! I take cash, check, venmo, zelle and if a company is paying, I can provide info for EFT.

This beats sitting in a 2-4 hour class and paying an average of $150 per person. Also, your organization may pay for or reimburse you for some or all of your BLS certification.

Message me in chat if you are interested.

I wish you all a happy and healthy day!

While visiting Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for work today, my meeting was pushed back by 30 minutes so I decided to donate blood. I then took some of the snacks to go and gave them to the homeless man on the corner of the 85 north ramp. Small acts of kindness can make big impacts.

Walking can bring more joy and better health to your life. Pick a new spot to explore and bring a family member or friend, too.

It’s true: Petting a dog or cat – or simply being near one – can lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety.

Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.

Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.

When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse

How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.

Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.

When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious

Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).

Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.

Stay prepared and know that you can make a difference in your pet's life! ❤️
