Conveniently located in Cumming, Georgia, Cumming Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medication-assisted treatment for adults who are struggling with addictions to opioids like heroin and prescription painkillers. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based and highly recommended form of opioid addiction treatment that combines counseling services with the use of prescription medications. The FDA-approved medications prescribed in MAT can help alleviate symptoms of withdrawal and prevent ongoing cravings for opioids. At Cumming CTC, patients can receive prescriptions for methadone and buprenorphine. Each person completes an assessment before starting treatment, and the results of that assessment help our team determine which medication may be most beneficial for the patient. Additionally, patients at our treatment center can receive individual and group therapy. Individual therapy gives people a chance to meet one-on-one with a substance abuse counselor, while group therapy gives them an opportunity to meet with a counselor as well as peers who are also struggling with opioid addictions. We offer individual therapy twice a month for the first 60 days of treatment, followed by sessions once a month after the initial 60 days. Group therapy is offered on an as-needed basis. However, our team recognizes that each person has unique needs during their treatment process, so we can adjust the frequency of both individual and group therapy sessions so that patients get the most benefit out of their time in treatment. If you are looking for help to overcome an addiction to opioids, or if you have any questions about medication-assisted treatment or the services we offer, please don’t hesitate to contact us today.
