Today is World Health Day 🌍

Health is more than just physical—it includes our emotional, mental, and relational wellbeing, too.

In a world that often encourages us to push through, stay busy, and “hold it all together,” taking care of your mental health is just as important as caring for your body.

Whether it’s setting boundaries, asking for support, slowing down, or starting therapy—these are all meaningful steps toward a healthier, more balanced life.

You deserve care that supports your whole self 🤍

Meet Tanya 🤍

As a mom of four, Tanya understands firsthand the beauty, complexity, and ever-changing nature of parenthood. She is passionate about supporting individuals and families through fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and the many transitions that come with raising children.

Tanya offers a grounded, compassionate space for both moms and dads navigating infertility, loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and the emotional realities of growing a family.

April is Counseling Awareness Month 🌿

This month, we celebrate the power of therapy, the courage it takes to begin, and the meaningful work that happens in the therapy room every day.

Counseling isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about creating space to be seen, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.

Whether you’re facing anxiety, relationship struggles, motherhood, grief, or life transitions—you deserve support.

Our team is here to walk alongside you. 🤍

April is World Autism Awareness Month and it’s a reminder of how important sensory understanding really is.

Here’s something I see all the time in postpartum moms:

After birth, your nervous system is more sensitive.
More protective. More easily overwhelmed.

The noise feels louder.
The touch can feel like too much.
The constant input can push you past your limit faster than it used to.

That doesn’t mean anything is “wrong.”
It means your body is adjusting.

And while that’s different from the lifelong sensory experiences of autistic individuals, it gives us a small window into why sensory-aware environments matter so much.

For your baby—and for you.

✨ Lower the lights
✨ Soften the noise
✨ Add slow, grounding input
✨ Take breaks from stimulation when you can

Because when we understand sensory needs, we show up with more compassion—
for ourselves, our babies, and others whose brains experience the world differently.

As Surrogacy Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to take a moment to honor the strength, complexity, and deep emotional journey that surrogacy holds 🤍

This month is especially meaningful to us, as our owner recently helped welcome a baby girl (2/24) through her final surrogacy journey and has been taking time to rest and recover. While we may not have shared as much about surrogacy this month as we had hoped, the importance of this journey—and the people within it—remains close to our hearts.

Whether you are a surrogate, intended parent, or navigating the in-between spaces—your experience matters. Surrogacy can bring hope, joy, grief, uncertainty, and everything in between.

We also encourage you to check out organizations like The Surrogacy Foundation and Jewish Fertility Foundation who are doing incredible work supporting families along the way.

At Cherokee Rose Counseling & Consulting, we are passionate about supporting individuals and families through every step of this journey—with compassion, understanding, and specialized care.

You don’t have to carry it all alone. 🌿

Not everyone feels better when the weather gets warmer.

And that doesn’t mean something is wrong with you.

Spring is supposed to feel light, fresh, hopeful—
but for a lot of people, it brings something else:

Restlessness
Pressure to feel better
A quiet awareness of everything that *hasn’t* changed

When the world around you is blooming,
it can make your own stuck places feel louder.

Your mental health doesn’t follow the seasons perfectly.
It doesn’t flip a switch just because the sun is out.

So if this season feels harder than you expected:

You’re not doing it wrong
You’re not “missing” the point of spring
You’re not behind

You’re just human in a season that can hold both
growth and discomfort at the same time.

And both are allowed to exist here. 🌿

March is an in-between season.

Not fully winter
Not fully spring

Some days feel light and hopeful
Others feel heavy and slow

And if you’re honest…
your mental health might feel the same way.

This time of year doesn’t ask you to have it all figured out.
It asks you to tolerate the *in-between.*

The not-there-yet
The still-becoming
The parts of you that are growing quietly, even if you can’t see it yet

We’re so quick to rush to the “after”
The healed version
The clearer version

But this middle space?
It matters too.

So if this week feels messy or unclear,
you’re not behind—you’re in season.

And growth is still happening here. 🌿

There’s a reason flowers change the way a space "feels".

It’s not just aesthetic—it’s backed by science.

🌿 In a Rutgers study, "100% of participants showed a genuine 'Duchenne' smile" when receiving flowers—an actual marker of true happiness

🌿 The same research found that flowers don’t just create a moment of joy—
they "reduced feelings of depression, anxiety, and agitation over time"

🌿 In another study, people in rooms with flowers "felt more positive and perceived others more kindly", improving social connection and mood

🌿 Even something as simple as seeing flowers in the morning was shown to "increase happiness and energy at the start of the day"

But beyond the research, there’s something quieter happening:

Flowers slow you down.

You notice them when you walk by
You pause to trim the stems
You take a breath without even realizing it

In a world that asks you to move faster, do more, and hold everything together…

Flowers gently ask you to do the opposite.

To soften
To notice
To be here

It doesn’t have to be a full bouquet.
Even one stem on your windowsill counts.
