Dr. Caitlyn Cortner and her husband Greg have been on a mission to open a chiropractic office for a little over two years before Arise was founded. It has always been a dream of Dr. Cortner to open up her own clinic after experiencing what is was like to loose her health when she was just 13 years old. She had always struggled with hormone imbalance and ear infections as a child and finally was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome when she was 13 and was told this could lead to infertility. The doctors told her there was no cure and the only way to manage the symptoms was through a birth control medication. Though it seemed like there was nothing else left to try and almost no hope she was referred to a chiropractor that informed her that her body had the ability to heal if taken from the right approach without the use of medication. All that needed to be done was to restore the brain’s communication through the nervous system to the rest of the body which allows the organ systems to heal. After the exam and xrays she discovered that her spinal cord had been in severe tension for a while and nerves were being compromised, even in the absence of neck pain! This made sense that her body was not able to heal appropriately and she started with chiropractic care. Within two months her symptoms diminished and after a year she no longer had PCOS. It was from that experience that she decided to become a chiropractor so she could help others heal in the same capacity she did. (Though chiropractic does not “treat” any symptom or disease, it helps the body heal and function better without the use of medication.)
In the spring of 2012 Dr. Caitlyn moved to Atlanta to pursue her chiropractic degree and during that time she met her lovely husband Greg Cortner. Not being a chiropractor himself he was encouraged by the passion she had towards her dream and wanted to help make it into a reality and decided to move into the practice with her. This is how Arise Chiropractic started. It took many hours of training, dedicated field work and 2 years of solid practice while working together, but we will have our doors open this October 2018!
At Arise, it is our mission and purpose to help Forsyth county be the healthiest county in the entire state of Georgia. We want our patients to feel like family and know they have a place to come get exceptional chiropractic care.
