Julie is an incredible postpartum doula/infant care specialist who provides families with:

*Daytime care for up to three newborns at a time​
*Guidance/instruction in newborn care​
*Establishes and implements a sleeping and feeding routine
*Logs baby's eating/sleeping patterns with detailed notes​
*Wash, dry and fold baby laundry​
*Washes bottles and breast pump supplies​
*Makes new formula or prepare bottles for the next day​
*Assists and supports mothers with basic breastfeeding tips
*Tidy up common living areas if it won't disturb sleeping individuals (load the dishwasher, wipe down counters, etc)​
*Light meal prep
*Provide referrals to other newborn professionals such as lactation consultants, pediatricians, etc.

And you need to get to a place where you can smile, thank them for their time, and then do whatever you want. Whatever you know your baby needs." We need more open dialogue regarding postpartum depression and anxiety...We certainly need to take better care of our moms. Our culture is so focused on the new baby that the new mom (adjusting to a completely new reality) is often forgotten.

It’s uncomfortable to see these harsh realities publicized and normalized because it bursts those bubbles of carefully curated perfection by forcing people to acknowledge that sometimes even the things that are supposed to be the most beautiful and sacred in this world (childbirth, motherhood) can frankly really suck.”

I can love my baby and also really hate many parts of this experience.
