Dear Patients,
Happy first day of May!
As updated from 04/29/2020, from Santa Clara County's newest revisions for Shelter in place, comprehensive routine eye exams are able be performed again. Please refer to this link:https://www.sccgov.org/sites/covid19/Pages/public-health-orders.aspxand
this passage:
"I’m a medical provider – am I allowed to remain open for preventive and non-urgent care?Yes, if you are a medical provider your office is encouraged to remain open. Under the Order, all medical services, including routine and preventive care, are considered essential. This includes, but is not limited to, mental health services, immunizations, well-woman exams, allergy shots, eye exams, physical therapy, and surgeries. With the exception of dental services, preventive and non-urgent care should generally not be deferred (please see the following FAQ regarding dental services). Many visits involve exams or procedures that must be done in person, but practitioners are encouraged to conduct appointments remotely via phone or telemedicine when it is appropriate and feasible to do so."
This is also in alignment with the American Optometric Association's latest update from 04/24/2020. Please refer to this link: https://www.aoa.org/coronavirus
this passage:
"As doctors of optometry prepare to resume delivery of complete, comprehensive eye health and vision care under a new phase of the nation's continuing COVID-19 pandemic response, the AOA recommends that clinical judgment and practice operations should be informed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reopening guidance of April 19 and the Opening Up America Again plan, as well as all state, state board and local health directives.
The AOA has confirmed with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials that the agency's March 17 nationwide recommendation to postpone routine eye care is no longer in effect, and that CMS's specific guidance on reopening facilities to provide nonemergent and non-COVID-19 health care is in force. Under this framework, state-by-state decisions will guide when and how doctors and practices can resume delivery of complete, comprehensive care.?"
The office will resume seeing patients for full eye exams starting next Thursday,05/07/2020, Friday, closed Saturday. Regular weekly schedule will resume on Tuesday 05/12/2020 including Saturdays.
Temperatures will be checked with a non contact thermometer at the reception area when entering the office. We will maintain social distance protocols within the office in areas that have been marked off and be abiding sanitizing protocols for all surfaces a patient interacts with. Please come in wearing masks otherwise one will be provided for you to wear in office. All staff and Dr. Yang will be masked and gloved.
We will be looking forward to seeing you all again as well as new faces! I know a lot has changed in the world and we will all get through this together in the new " normal" !
