On Thursday night I had the honor of attending the Premier of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources(ODNR) movie titled “Ohio Wild at Heart” at the IMAX theatre at Imagination Station in Toledo, Ohio. This event was attended by Governor DeWine, Congressman Bob Latta, the head of the ODNR, any many other guests. The movie was fantastic. It showcased many of the opportunities that we have right in our backyards to get out and explore the outdoors. If you get the opportunity, it’s well worth the watch.

With perch catches still very hit or miss, today I opted once again to search for some walleye. We finished 5 short of a boat limit, but did manage to pick up a dozen perch and a couple cats for the customers.

On 9/30 I was invited down to the governors mansion for a fish fry. The invite was extended because I took part in the governors Fish Ohio day back in July. It was a pretty cool experience.

Haven’t posted much in a while, mostly because there hasn’t been much good to post. I had a perch trip on 9/27 I believe we caught a total of 28 yellow perch. I switched things up on 10/2 and chased walleye. The wind blew out of the east for two days prior to this trip, which I believe shutdown the bite, we finished with 1 walleye.🙁

After a successful walleye trip in early August, Todd came back today to give perch fishing a try. These guys stayed on the rail all day, which paid off with 90 perch that weighed in at 26lbs. It was a very light bote with quite a few shorts that were theown backnti be caught another day. Blue perch fly rigs seemed to work best. We were north of the Toledo Harbor lighthouse in 21’ of water. I still have several days open in October. The day started out a little bumpy after yesterdays blow day. We went right back out to where we finished on Sunday and found a decent batch of fish. We finished the day 14 for 19 with 5 kings and 7 steelhead going into the cooler for another boat limit. We released 2 steelhead caught while clearing lines at the end of the day.
