This morning we had the honor of starting a new tradition here at Custer Care and Rehab.

We officially unveiled our memorial tree, a tribute to those special individuals who are no longer with us.

But we need your help! The jury is still out on a tree topper. Angel or star? We’d love to hear from our followers to help us decide.

Once again we will be having our Adopt a Resident Christmas tree. Stop by and pick up a tag or two. The tree will be up on December 1, and all gifts need to be returned by December 19th before our Christmas party. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Jamie at 605-673-2115.

All of us here at Custer Care and Rehab would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all who lent a hand and reached out today during the power outage. The extra support was so very appreciated and we feel so blessed to be thought of when everyone is affected by such a widespread event.

Thank you to all of the hardworking folks who helped to restore power to the communities affected.

Thank you to Mayer Plumbing Custer SD and Custer Volunteer Fire Department for bringing in large lights and extra flashlights not only for residents but for our kitchen and dining room so we could still provide a hot meal for supper.

Thank you to McGas Propane for coming right up to the facility to make sure our generators propane tank was full.

Thank you to the Monument Health Custer Hospital food services staff for working hard to still put together a hot meal for the residents to enjoy.

And most importantly thank you to all of our staff who came together and worked as a team to make the afternoon and evening go as smoothly as absolutely possible.

In addition to observing Veterans Day, we also celebrated a birthday in the house.

👻 🎃 Our residents had a wonderful time, from party preparations to Halloween Bingo, pets visiting in costumes, the party itself, and greeting trick-or-treaters. They seemed somewhat tired today, nonetheless 😊
