Navigate Counseling and Consultation Services provides mental health services to individuals, couples, and families in the greater Akron, OH area and beyond. We also provide continuing education and consultation for counselors and other helping professionals seeking to improve competence in working with a variety of presenting concerns and populations. Navigate Counseling is proud to be a leader in LGBTQ-affirming counseling. We promise that as a client of Navigate you will be seen and understood for who you truly are and your identities will be embraced and celebrated! We have clinicians on staff who are able to assist you in understanding your sexual and gender identities and navigating milestone moments in life. We are proud members of the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce, the Towpath Chamber of Commerce, and Plexus - Ohio’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. Navigate currently has two locations:

A few weeks ago, 8 of our amazing clinicians attended the All Ohio Counselors Conference, presenting five sessions aligning with the conference theme, “Fostering Wellness, Equipping Counselors.” We shared leadership insights, supported professional growth, and highlighted mentorship and advocacy in our field. Our very own Kimberlee Barrella, LPCC-S was also awarded both the Professional Leadership Award AND the Susan J. Sears Counselor of the Year! 🎉

It was a great chance to connect, network, and learn from colleagues statewide. Most importantly, we had fun doing it! We made sure to snap some photos to share with you all, too📚

“My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but at its core, it’s about building a real connection. I believe healing happens through collaboration – you’re the expert on your life, and I’m here to walk alongside you as we explore what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next.

I show up to each session with authenticity, warmth, and compassion, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen and supported. Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or just feeling stuck, my goal is to help you build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and develop practical tools to move forward in a way that feels right for you.”

There’s still time to share your expertise and contribute to the theme, Living Loud: Promoting Visibility, Unity, and Empowerment. We’re seeking proposals for sessions that are clinically relevant, ethically grounded, and affirming of LGBTQIA+ communities. Submit your proposal by November 10 to help us shape an inspiring virtual conference experience on February 7, 2026.

On February 7, 2026, Navigate will be hosting the first annual Waypoint Conference! We are inviting clinicians to submit proposals for virtual continuing education sessions that are clinically relevant, ethically sound, and aligned with our mission to support and empower LGBTQIA+ folx. All submissions will be reviewed for CEU eligibility, clinical content quality, and alignment with the conference theme, “Living Out Loud: Promoting Visibility, Unity, and Empowerment.”
