Did you know that April 1, is Start by Believing Day? The "Turn Summit Teal" initiative is about empowering survivors, encouraging more people to report crime, and seriously investigating reports—which ultimately makes our communities safer for everyone.

Tomorrow, April 1, is Start by Believing Day. Please join us in wearing teal, displaying teal lights, and signing our pledge to "Turn Summit Teal" and show survivors of sexual violence that we believe them. Be sure to take photos in your teal and post them with our hashtag !

Survivors often fear they won't be believed, that their experiences will be minimized, or that seeking justice will only bring more pain after they already experienced a traumatic crime. Start by Believing is about empowering survivors, encouraging more people to report crime, and seriously investigating reports—which ultimately makes our communities safer for everyone.
