What else is Labor Day for but to labor? This mom spent the day doing just that- intuitively, gracefully, and peacefully. This sweet baby boy was welcomed to the “God is so good” chorus just an hour and a half before the clock struck midnight and welcomed in his momma’s birthday. God is so good, indeed!

This family has had a special place in my heart for years. We first connected over both having twins born very close together. Then, our paths crossed again via midwifery care, and I rushed in the door to help receive daughter #5, who so graciously waited for me to arrive (but just barely!) This time, baby brother said “I got this”, and beat me by 5 minutes! He is so adored by his big sisters, and super cute to boot! His momma is brave, strong, and an all around enjoyable human. They are a big part of what makes this the best job in the world!

Moms are strong and babies are resilient. This momma worked so hard and had a beautiful home birth, with a few small hiccups. Since midwives are trained to manage emergencies, all little fires were put out and postpartum has been smooth sailing. ⛵️

This is a repeat family who is near and dear to my heart, and I showed up to their postpartum home visit to find myself a little handsome twinnie baby whose outfit coordinated with my own. What could be better? 🥰
