Am I codependent or hyper-independent?

How do I learn to accept help without feeling weak or indebted?

How do I know when to let go and give my loved one some space?

Can one person satisfy all my needs?

How do I set boundaries with an elderly parent?

These are just some of the questions explored in Nedra Glover Tawwab‘s latest book, The Balancing Act. And we got to hear from the author herself, and even got a signed copy of the book!

Thank you for organizing this fascinating event ✨

The Lunar New Year marks the beginning of a new cycle.

And sometimes the new cycle begins the moment you stop pretending you’re fine.

If you’ve been quietly struggling (and quietly hoping something will happen to make it better) this might be the step.

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to ask for help.

You just have to be honest with yourself.

We’re starting a new Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group, and we still have a few spots available! We like to keep our groups small so… don’t wait too long.

It’s structured support.
Clinical guidance.
Skill-building.
Star-making.
Snacks.

If this feels like it was written for you… it probably was.

Call the number in our bio and our friendly office manager Janet will guide you through the details 🌟

As DBT clinicians, we love Marsha Linehan! So we thought we’ll start a series of quotes from the great mother herself ✨

This quote highlights the most fundamental principle of DBT: change doesn’t happen through insight, it happens through action. Behavioral change, then, results in emotional and cognitive changes. But it starts with action.

What’s one small act you can do today to create meaningful change in your life?

Radical acceptance can be a life-changing skill that empowers you to accept life on life’s terms without unnecessary and often painful resistance. Here are six examples when radical acceptance could change the dynamics of the situation.

Do you ever feel like you need more than one hour a week can provide? Doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you or your therapist. It just might mean that you need more support than this. So here’s what an IOP can do for you.

I’m not perfect…but I’m enough.
Carl Rogers understood something radical: growth doesn’t mean fixing yourself.
It means finally accepting yourself without conditions.

Not perfect.
Still enough.

Wishing you a season where you don’t have to perform.
Where “holding it together” isn’t the goal.
Where you allow yourself what you need and deserve - without justifying it.

Happy holidays!

It’s daring to disappoint someone instead of people-pleasing.
It’s daring to say “this doesn’t work for me” without the need to justify it.
Daring to let things get uncomfortable.

For a lot of us, boundaries feel dangerous.
They threaten connection. They trigger old fears: What if I’m too much? What if they reject me?

But boundaries aren’t walls. They’re doorways.

Daring to set boundaries is daring to trust that the right connections won’t require you to betray yourself or to swallow your truth.

And that’s a brave place to stand.
