Meet Brad, one of our incredible Katy volunteers!
Brad joined The Hope Chest in September 2025 after years of donating—then decided to take it a step further by giving his time to help others. Now, you’ll find him in our electronics department, cleaning, testing, and pricing items to give them a second life.

His favorite part of volunteering?
🔧 “There is always something to fix or repair and the satisfaction for helping the community around us.”
A little more about Brad:
• Retired, married with 3 grandkids
• Enjoys gardening and volunteering with the Houston Livestock Association & Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
• Fun fact: He loves road trips to Colorado 🚗🏔️

A little cloud cover couldn’t slow us down ☁️ Our teams braved the breeze for this year's annual Cy-Hope Clay Shoot Tournament at Westside Sporting Grounds and made it one to remember.

From time on the course to a fajita lunch by The Backyard Grill, plus prizes and drinks back at the pavilion, it was a full day of fun. Huge thanks to our sponsors for making it all possible, and to each and every person who attended to help make life better for kids!

We caught up with Caroline Collins TV this week to talk about our upcoming Crawfish & Co****le fundraiser! While the tournament is sold out, you can still buy a ticket to enjoy the Crawfish Boil and live music by Mike Gilbert - Music 🦞🎶

From packing to providing!

We spent the day today volunteering at with Goya Foods helping pack food bags alongside hundreds of other organizations and volunteers helping families across Texas.

We packed beans, pasta, snacks and more, and loaded the bags up to take back to Cy-Hope to be distributed to the families we serve.

Grateful to be part of a day that puts real food in real hands and to partner with so many organizations showing up for our community!

This amazing group of women (plus our MVP Albert!) rolled up their sleeves and got to work in the Backpack Barn today, moving shelving, food, and supplies to make room for our brand new fridge and freezer. Because of them, we’re now able to store even more food and serve even more families.

These upgrades were made possible thanks to the generosity of Mosaic United Methodist Church and their incredible congregation. From added storage to expanded capacity, their support is helping us show up for our community month after month.

And a special shoutout to Melissa Stonebrook, who had to head out before the photo but was right there doing the heavy lifting with the rest of the crew!

Thank you to Tomball Memorial High School NHS Volunteer Coordinator Aubrie Austin for helping us get a head start on our Back to School Distribution by organizing a school supply drive to support local students!

Our big distribution may be in August, but it’s never too early to start making a difference. Donations like these help us get a head start and ensure every child walks into the school year prepared and confident.
