Still recovering, doing therapy and rehab from my December auto accident.. I am 56 years + 5 days old as of today.. I am down on the scale from 220 in December to a current 205 as a result of muscle loss and reduced appetite.. tightening up on the nutrition and quality of rest to speed up recovery.. new clients starting to come on board as we continue to rebrand and rebuild SAINT FITNESS..

For a 40+ year-old woman or man, weight training after a period of inactivity can lead to significant improvements in muscle mass, strength, and bone density, potentially reducing the risk of falls and fractures, and improving overall health and quality of life.

Metabolic Changes:
Decreased muscle mass can lead to a slower metabolism, making it harder to maintain a healthy weight.

Enhanced Metabolism:
Increased muscle mass leads to a higher metabolism, meaning the body burns more calories at rest.

Improved Body Composition:
Weight training can lead to a shift in body composition (muscle vs fat), with an increase in lean muscle mass which leads to a decrease in fat mass.

Is it age? Is it experience? Is it growth or a lack there of?
It is all of those and more that cause some of us to feel 'thrown off', not ourselves or even slightly depressed for others who CANNOT train during times and challenges like we've been experiencing here in Central Texas.

Blessed to be back in my gym and working with clients again. My 51st birthday is in 8 days and through having to learn new training styles and techniques for my shoulder injuries, I have experienced personal growth and new maturity through patience and in the realization that I must continue to 'practice What I preach and teach'! Like focusing more attention to other body parts that still can take a beating..while taking my time with more "brittle" areas.
