This April, we’re celebrating Autism Acceptance Month by focusing on how we can make the world a little less overwhelming. 🧩✨

For many neurodivergent individuals, the world can feel visually chaotic. Issues like poor eye tracking, depth perception struggles, or light sensitivity often contribute to sensory overload. Vision Therapy provides the tools to help bridge that gap.

👁️ How Vision Therapy Supports:
Social Connection: Strengthening comfortable eye contact.

Motor Skills: Better hand-eye coordination and balance.

Visual Integration: Filtering "visual noise" to reduce anxiety.

Focus: Easier reading and tracking on the page.

Our goal isn’t to change who someone is—it’s to give them the visual confidence to navigate the world with less stress. 💙

April is Autism Acceptance Month, and it’s the perfect time to highlight how we can better support the unique ways neurodivergent individuals interact with the world. 🧩✨

Did you know that many individuals on the autism spectrum struggle with undiagnosed vision issues? It’s often not a matter of "20/20" sight, but rather how the brain processes what the eyes see.

👁️ How Vision Therapy Makes a Difference
For those with Autism, the world can sometimes feel overwhelming or visually chaotic. Functional vision issues—like poor eye tracking, difficulty with depth perception, or light sensitivity—can contribute to sensory overload.

Optometric Vision Therapy can help improve:
- Eye Contact & Social Connection: Strengthening the ability to sustain comfortable gaze.
- Motor Skills: Improving hand-eye coordination for better balance and navigation.
- Visual Integration: Helping the brain filter out "visual noise" to reduce meltdowns and anxiety.
- Reading & Focus: Making it easier to track words on a page without losing place.

Our goal is to give them the visual tools to navigate the world with more confidence and less stress. 💙

20/20 sight doesn’t mean you have “perfect” vision.

FACT: A child can pass a school vision screening with 20/20 sight and still have a major vision problem that prevents them from learning.

School screenings usually only test how well you see at a distance.

They often miss issues with tracking (moving eyes across a page), teaming (how well the eyes work together) or accommodation (changing focus from the board to a desk).

A child shouldn’t have to fight the page to learn. If reading is a constant struggle, it’s time to look deeper than 20/20. Book a free discovery call today: pvdcvision.com/booking

Pink Floyd knew a thing or two about the dark side of prisms... and so do we. 🌈🎸

By bending light, prisms force the brain to recognize eye misalignment and can help with recalibration. This essential feedback loop helps our patients resolve dizziness, stop double vision, and restore accurate depth perception.

Because they are such powerful neuro-rehab tools, they must be prescribed and monitored in vision therapy by Developmental Optometrists. 🧠✨
