At Lake Martin Community Hospital, caring for our patients doesn’t stop when they leave the hospital.

Through our partnership with Ivy Creek Home Health, Ivy Creek Palliative Care, and Ivy Creek Hospice, we work together to make sure patients continue receiving the compassionate care and support they need every step of the way.

From recovery at home, to managing serious illness, to providing comfort and dignity during life’s most difficult moments our teams stay connected so patients and families are never navigating their healthcare journey alone.

It’s all part of our commitment to continuity of care, close to home.

Because when healthcare teams work together, our community receives the very best care. 💙

🚑 Care Begins Before the Hospital Doors

When someone calls 911, the first healthcare professionals they see are often the dedicated team at Tallapoosa EMS.

These highly trained professionals begin patient care the moment they arrive on scene assessing conditions, starting treatment, stabilizing patients, and communicating with our medical teams before the patient even arrives.

By the time the ambulance reaches Lake Martin Community Hospital, critical information has already been shared so our emergency department is ready to continue care immediately.

It’s a seamless partnership focused on one thing, the health and safety of our community.

We are proud to work alongside Tallapoosa EMS, a division of Ivy Creek Healthcare, every day to provide fast, coordinated care when it matters most.

💙 Thank you to the EMS professionals who serve our community 24/7.

Please stay weather aware and be safe!

Please stay weather aware and be safe!

All, please see the attached graphics for the latest information from the National Weather Service in Birmingham. I will continue to monitor the forecast and provide any updates Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday marks the one year anniversary of the EF-3 Horseshoe Bend tornado, so please have MULTIPLE, RELIABLE WAYS to receive your weather alerts! Have a plan and know where your safe place is in your home. Go to the center part of the structure, lowest level, and in a room with no windows. There will be FEMA shelters open and Safer Places available so please utilize them!!

If you have not already please go to our Tallapoosa County website (www.tallaco.com) and click on the (sign up now) scrolling icon at the top of the screen to sign up for Tallapoosa Alert. This will enable you to receive text messages, voice calls, or emails related to warnings based on your address to your cell or home phone.

Thanks,

--

March is National Kidney Month 💙

Your kidneys play a vital role in keeping your body healthy. They help remove waste, balance fluids, control blood pressure, and keep your body functioning properly.

The good news? Many kidney problems can be prevented or detected early with healthy habits and regular checkups.

Here are a few simple ways to protect your kidney health:
✔ Stay hydrated
✔ Manage blood pressure and blood sugar
✔ Eat a balanced, low-salt diet
✔ Exercise regularly
✔ Schedule routine health screenings with your primary care provider

If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or a family history of kidney disease, it’s especially important to talk with your healthcare provider.

Your health matters to us at Lake Martin Community Hospital, a division of Ivy Creek Healthcare.

✨ Friday Faces of Ivy Creek ✨

Today we’re proud to spotlight Terri Richardson, RN, Discharge Planner at LMCH.

Terri says what she enjoys most about working at Ivy Creek is the people and that speaks volumes about our culture.

In her role, she loves helping patients get the care and support they need before discharge, making sure they leave feeling confident and cared for. The moments that remind her why she does what she does? When patients call her by name and personally thank her for helping them. 🤍

Outside of work, Terri enjoys reading, and she describes her experience at Ivy Creek in one word: Educational.

When asked what Ivy Creek means to her, she shared:
“The people that work here are exceptional.”

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Terri, for the compassion and dedication you bring to our patients and our team every day!
