Premiere Retirement Living in Roanoke VA The Glebe opened its doors in 2005.

Today, this faith-based non-profit retirement community is home to more than 200 people. The Glebe is a place where excellent service and commitment to a high quality of care are the highest priorities. Large, well-appointed Independent Living cottages and apartments, a full continuum of care and Life Care program, and comprehensive amenities and services make living here delightfully easy and carefree. We provide assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, senior rehabilitation, and home care.

Our Beginner Art Class, “Art with DeHart,” led by talented Glebe resident Peggy DeHart, started our Saturday morning off with creativity today. Just look at these beautiful watercolor vases!

Resident Spotlight 🔦

Jim and Drew Everett, new residents of The Glebe hosted a full house with their program called, “Bats, Mosquitos, and Goats”. They were volunteer missionaries in Uganda for 20 years with Advancing the Ministries of the Gospel (AMG) living 4 months of the year there. Jim and Drew lived just like the nationals did, even living without electricity, which is common for about 95% of Uganda, to be able to build trust and have an effective ministry.

As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words” – and it was! They shared countless photos, uplifting (and some heartbreaking) stories, and experiences with so many resilient and amazing people they met along the way. They provided the residents with laughs, understanding of why the program was named that (so many bugs, animals, and snakes), and what life looks like that the nationals face on the daily. Thank you, Jim and Drew, for sharing your missions work with the community!

Today we wore red and came together to celebrate heart health!

💪 Heart Health & Wellness Testing – learning how movement strengthens the heart
🩺 Therapy & Clinic Blood Pressure Checks – supporting heart strength and prevention
💆 Massage Therapy – reducing stress and supporting circulation
🧠 Social Services – exploring the mind-heart connection
🍓 Culinary Strawberry Station – delicious, heart-healthy treats and tips
