❤️ Wear Red Day ❤️

Today, we proudly stand in support of Wear Red Day, a reminder of the impact heart disease has on individuals, families, and communities across the country. It’s a day to come together, raise visibility, and encourage conversations around heart health and prevention.

At DHCHD, caring for hearts—through education, awareness, and quality care close to home—is part of what we do every day. We’re grateful to our staff and community members who are joining us by wearing red and helping shine a light on the importance of heart health.

Thank you for standing with us and helping spread awareness today. ❤️

We are deeply thankful to the Mellema family, on behalf of Mellema Farms, for their generous $50,000 gift to the Dallam Hartley Counties Healthcare Foundation in support of our More Than a Home capital campaign to build a new long-term care facility for Dalhart.

This meaningful contribution reflects a true commitment to the future of healthcare in our community. Families like the Mellemas help make Dalhart the special place it is—by investing in people, believing in what’s possible, and helping move this vital project forward.

As the Mellema family shared: “Doing our part to build a better tomorrow.”

We are incredibly grateful for their generosity, leadership, and belief in this project. Gifts like this bring us one step closer to providing the care our seniors deserve and ensuring a stronger future for our community.

Thank you, Mellema family, for your support and for helping build a better tomorrow for Dalhart. 💙

❤️ American Heart Month ❤️

February is American Heart Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease—the leading cause of death in the United States—and recognizing the importance of heart health for individuals and families in our community.

At DHCHD, we’re proud to support heart health through education, prevention, early detection, and compassionate care close to home. We’re committed to helping our community live longer, healthier lives—one heartbeat at a time.

📅 This Friday, February 6, is Wear Red Day!
We encourage our staff and community members to join us by wearing red to show support, raise awareness, and stand together in the fight against heart disease.

⏰ Tomorrow is the day, Dalhart!

Join us TOMORROW, Sunday, February 1st, at 1:30 PM for a Town Hall to learn more about More Than a Home—our capital campaign to build a new Nursing Home for Dalhart, made possible by the generous $10 million pledge from Louise and Gene Rahll.

This Town Hall will share why a new facility is so greatly needed, how it supports the long-term sustainability of Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District, and the ways our community can help move this project forward. Showing up, learning more, and helping spread the word truly matters.

📍 Frank Phillips College

Your presence means more than you may realize. We need our community beside us as we work toward this vision—and we would be honored to see you there tomorrow.

💙 Grateful for Community. Inspired by Generosity. 💙

We are incredibly thankful to Alfonso Venegas for his generous $30,000 gift to the Dallam Hartley Counties Healthcare Foundation in support of our More Than a Home capital campaign to build a new long-term care facility for Dalhart.

Alfonso is a dedicated, involved, and passionate member of our community, and this gift reflects the heart of Dalhart—neighbors investing in neighbors and believing in the future of where we live. Support like this makes a meaningful difference and helps move this much-needed project forward.

As Alfonso shared:

“I’m really thankful to be in a position to give back to a community that has supported me so much. This donation is about believing in where we live and choosing to invest in the people who make it special. Huge thank you to Louise and Gene Rahll for their incredible gift and for setting the bar for what real community looks like. Their generosity is what makes projects like this possible. I hope this encourages other young professionals to get involved and give back in their own way. When we show up together, our community only gets stronger.”

We could not be more grateful for Alfonso’s generosity, leadership, and belief in this project. It is people like him—alongside the incredible example set by Louise and Gene Rahll—who make Dalhart the special place it is and help turn vision into reality.

Thank you, Alfonso, for investing in our seniors, our community, and our future. 💙
