Meet the Team 👋
Say hello to Matt Johnson!
Matt earned his degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from USM. He went on to complete his Master’s in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Kennesaw State University, followed by his residency in Atlanta.
Matt has a special interest in pediatrics, as well as running orthoses and exoskeleton technology.
Matt says the most rewarding part of his work is helping individuals achieve their goals and ensuring that life doesn’t end at amputation—it’s just the beginning of a new chapter.
You can find Matt caring for patients in our Hattiesburg and Biloxi offices. We’re proud to have him on our team!

Check out Mr. Doc—breaking free from his cane at this visit! 💪
Despite a complex medical history, he doesn’t let anything hold him back. With an incredible sense of humor and a wealth of life experience, he’s truly a pleasure for our team to care for.
And we can’t forget the shirt—“Quit pulling my leg… seriously, it will come off.” 😄
Great work by Brittany Bennet, CPO at Buckner Prosthetics – Biloxi, supporting Mr. Doc on his journey and progress.

Mr. Kevin came in recently for new prosthetics supplies- and now he’s right where he belongs: working on his Cadillac and playing basketball with his son.
Back to the garage. Back to the court. Back to life. 🏀🦿🚘

Meet the Team series continues... 👋
Meet Dena!
Dena has been a valued part of the Buckner team since 2021, keeping everything running smoothly in our Hattiesburg office. From scheduling and coordinating care to making sure our patients feel supported every step of the way—she truly does it all (and then some!).
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Dena cheering on her kids—most likely at a softball field or track meet. ⚾🏃♀️
She keeps us laughing ALL the time, and we are so grateful to have her as part of our team!

We love bringing personality into patient care—especially when it comes to team spirit! 🖤💛
Mr. Shaun is stepping out in his new vacuum socket, repping the New Orleans Saints from head to toe. From his gear to his custom prosthesis, everything is all Saints!
It’s always a win when function meets personal style. Who Dat! 🏈

When your simple “walk-in patient” turns into a broken back, one leg injury, and an amputation on the other… 😅🩻🦿
Happy April Fools to our practitioner, Walker, who handles anything that rolls through the door like a pro. 🦾

April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month 💙🧡 The Amputee Coalition is celebrating 40 years of community, advocacy, and progress. Please check out the Amputee Coalition to learn more!
Every story is different. Every journey is powerful.
Limb loss and limb difference don’t define a person—they’re just one part of a much bigger, stronger story. From first steps to major milestones, every victory matters, and we’re honored to walk alongside our patients through it all.
This awareness is about more than prosthetics—it’s about resilience, access to care, innovation, and a community that lifts each other up.
To those living with limb loss or limb difference: your strength inspires us daily. And to the families, caregivers, and clinicians—thank you for being part of the journey!

At Buckner Prosthetics our patients are our priority. That is why we take a hands-on approach to prosthetic care, with the best interest of our patients in mind. We provide quality prosthetic devices, proper-fitting sockets, and access to emerging bionic and prosthetic technologies to meet our patients’ objectives.
We believe that prosthetic care begins with socket design. Without an interface that fits well, the functionality of a prosthesis and the well-being of the patient are compromised. Therefore, we develop custom interfaces for any amputation level and type of residual limb. Buckner Prosthetics is notably one of the leading facilities in fitting below-knee and above-knee amputees. Additionally, we specialize in upper-extremity prostheses.
Our accelerated fabrication for those who travel long distances allows us to fit a prosthesis within days. We create all prosthetic limbs in our on-site fabrication labs, which enables us to ensure fast turnaround times and a high level of quality control. Our technicians utilize the latest techniques and products available to craft prosthetic devices in our state-of-the-art facilities. Buckner Prosthetics is equipped to make precise adjustments, as prosthetists and technicians have the opportunity to work together through out the duration of patient care.
Amputees need lifelong, well-rounded care, and prostheses require continual maintenance. Return visits to Buckner Prosthetics are necessary examine the fit of a socket, the functionality of a prosthesis, and the condition of a patient’s residual limb, including the skin and range of motion. We also understand that changes in overall health, activity level, and life aspirations necessitate follow-up appointments.
It is important that a prosthesis remains comfortable, with a secure fit for the amputee’s safety and success. We recommend that patients check their prostheses and residual limbs daily and that they be seen by their prosthetist at least every six months. If you have any questions or concerns about the fit and function of your prosthetic limb, contact Buckner Prosthetics today!
