If you take an antidepressant, staying consistent with your medication matters. Parkland Community Health Plan rewards you for it.

Here's how it works for STAR and CHIP members ages 18 and older:
- Refill your antidepressant prescription for three months in a row and earn a $20 reward.
- Refill for six months in a row and earn an additional $20 reward.

Your Medicaid or CHIP coverage doesn't renew on its own. You have to take action to keep it.

Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) will send you a renewal packet in a yellow envelope marked "Action Required." When you get it, you have 30 days to complete and submit the form.

Here's how to stay ahead of it:

Black Motherhood: Honoring the Journey is this Saturday, April 18, at YMCA Park South in Dallas.

Parkland Community Health Plan was proud to host a Healthy Cooking Demo at Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School STEAM Academy. Families learned how to make simple, healthy meals together. From hands-on cooking tips to easy recipes, it was all about building healthy habits at home.

Thank you to our partner Dallas County Health and Human Services Food and Nutrition Program for leading the demo and to Dallas ISD Mental Health Services for championing mental and physical health for students across Dallas ISD. And a special thank you to Raul Quintanilla Sr. Middle School STEAM Academy for opening its doors to the community.

This free event celebrates and supports Black moms with breastfeeding education, doula and midwife resources, car seat safety tips, welcome gifts, raffles, and more.

Breakfast will be served from 9:15 – 10:15 am, so arrive early to enjoy a meal before the event begins. The event runs from 10 am – 1 pm.

Parkland Community Health Plan recently joined Head Start of Greater Dallas at a mobile food pantry. The event was put on by Catholic Charities Dallas and the North Texas Food Bank.

Families got fresh food and learned about helpful programs all in one place.

Thank you to Head Start of Greater Dallas for hosting. Thank you to Catholic Charities of Dallas for running the food pantry and to the North Texas Food Bank for their support. We're grateful to everyone who came out to help serve Head Start families and the community.

Your kidneys clean your blood, remove waste, and help keep your body working the way it should. Most people don't think about them until something goes wrong. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the top two causes of kidney disease, and many people don't have symptoms until the damage is serious.

Drinking enough water, eating less salt, staying active, and going to your regular checkups are some of the best ways to protect your kidneys.

As a Medicaid (STAR) or CHIP member of PCHP, your regular checkups and lab work are covered. If you have diabetes, you can also earn rewards for staying on top of your health.

- $20 reward for completing a diabetic eye exam once per year (ages 15 and older)
- $20 reward for a blood sugar test (HbA1c) every six months (ages 18 and older)
