Please pray for the Salinas family.

We are trying to help the Salinas family during a very difficult time. Laura is not doing well and Terrie is working and giving care to her mother in law. This is a small way we can help

Desperate for Him

It’s tempting to think we’re strong, we’re capable, and “we’ve got this.” But in reality, we are powerless on our own. We desperately need God—every moment of every day.

We wouldn’t be here if He didn’t create us. We wouldn’t live if He didn’t sustain us. We wouldn’t flourish if He didn’t guide, protect, and empower us.

The author of 1 Chronicles knew the importance of depending on God. He said:

“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In a world that’s constantly focused on itself, it’s crucial to recognize our need to depend on God. We need His strength, we need His power, and—to put it simply—we just need Him!

If you’re feeling confident in your own self-sufficiency, ask yourself: Who made this world? Who created my body, my mind, and my soul? My eyes, my legs, my lungs? Who has the power to save—or to destroy? Who holds the keys to life?

Just as we continually need air, we need the power and presence of God to sustain our every move.

So how can we seek His strength and presence continually? By staying connected to Him: talking to Him throughout the day, prioritizing Him in the midst of busy schedules, humbly asking for His power.

God will never deny a heart that is genuinely seeking Him.

So come to Him with your weakness and He will give you strength. Come to Him with your questions, your needs, and your wants, and He will give you Himself. And that is the very best thing of all.

This past week there was a lesson on the topic of Sanity. Doug T. taught a great lesson. He shared that insanity was doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome than what our circumstances have proved is the usual outcome.

Here’s a little story Ron C. Sent along after the lesson…

We’ve spent the last weekend being thankful, navigating Black Friday, Rivalry Saturday, Cyber Monday and today…Giving Tuesday. The Bibles says in Proverbs 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

Today in the town of Gonaives, Haiti four hundred children will be headed to school at Sonlight Christian Mission. Over the last twenty years God has been doing a great work to pave the way for this school to begin and grow to now 11 grades with plans to add the final 2 over the next couple years. None of it would happen without the refreshing generosity of others.

Please make a generous gift to Sonlight Christian Mission today and refresh the future generation of these children who will go on to lead Haiti in the future with a Christian World View that can truly change the country from the inside out. What if the children in Gonaives, Haiti had the opportunity to chase their dreams? The key is education. The government doesn't provide education to everyone...

God’s presence and his word sustains us…“But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed.” (2 Timothy 4:17) Paul’s comfort wasn’t found in people returning. It was found in the unwavering presence of God. Because when everyone else leaves… the Lord remains. When those who once promised support are nowhere to be found, it is God’s Word that keeps you standing.

Here’s a prayer from a devotion in the Bible App…

Lord, I don’t want to live asleep while Your Word cries out from the dust. Wake me up with Your truth. Break everything in me that has forgotten You. Let Your voice shake my foundations and lift me up with a renewed passion to obey. Let revival begin in me today: one that can only be born from Your living and active voice.

In Jesus’ name.
Amen

Find God’s word and let it transform you.
