As I sit and think about my life-
Where I’ve been, what I’ve done..even the challenges I’ve faced-
Something stands out at me every time.
There were many times that I’ve wanted something so badly…
Whether it was a new job, a potential love, even the small things, too,
I always ended up finding my way to something better than what I set out to get.
At the time, all I could focus on was that I was disappointed and discouraged about not getting what I wanted…
But now that time has passed,
I realize that everything happens for a reason..
And it’s always because I deserved better.
A better love story, a higher quality job, even a more appealing future.
Every door that closed led me to the door I was always meant to enter.
Truthfully, I couldn’t be more thankful for the broken hearts that taught me and strengthened me, dead ends that opened my eyes and setbacks that turned into comebacks.
I couldn’t see it at the time, but everything happens the way it is meant to..
And that’s not comforting when you’re hurting.
But the older I’ve gotten and the more stuff that I’ve been through, I realize that the bigger picture of my life isn’t something I’ll always see when I’m in the middle of a struggle.
I have to hold onto the fact that I deserve the best out of life and I’m never going to settle for less.
So, as I sit back and take a sip of my drink, I can’t help but smile just a little.
Every broken road has led me right to where I’m meant to be..
And I’m going to make the most out of every opportunity, each day and all the dreams I have for myself…
I’m worth that…and so much more.

She’s the quiet one, unassuming and speaks only if she has something meaningful to say.
She’s the rarest combination of shy, introspective and deep, so speaking simply to be heard will never be who she is.
Her friends and those close to her- the few that she has gotten close to..
They love and appreciate her quiet resolve and deepest depths.
They realize what most don’t- she’s an old soul and values her quiet time..
But that doesn’t mean she’s weak or empty..
Far from it.
When life forces her to step up, she does just that.
She’ll strap on her armor and go to war if she must ..whether it’s for the ones she loves or for greater purpose, she’s not afraid to plunge into the fray..
But she’ll never be the one looking for conflict or seeking attention.
Her own company is most often her preference- and not because she’s lonely or sad, but because she’s comfortable with who she is and enjoys her private time.
Truthfully, most people don’t understand that about her and make the assumptions they don’t have the right to make..
She doesn’t care what the opinions of those that don’t matter are about her.
She lives her life by her choice and finds her happiness as she wants.
She doesn’t care about approval or acceptance from the world..just being happy.
Which, most of the time, is curled up with a good book and some beautiful music.
Maybe the world won’t ever truly understand the quiet woman with a heart of gold and spirit of iron, but she’s happy just the way she is.
She’ll never change or ever be a people pleaser, because she worked hard to become the person she is..
So, when you see her, don’t mistake her quiet soul for a weak or empty one.
Because this reticent and reserved woman is anything but weak or empty..
She’ll always be strong, deep and soulful.

I know you’ve been through some tough times lately, but step back and take a deep breath.
Stop doubting yourself and your strength.

It’s easy to forget who you are and what you truly deserve when you’re just fighting to survive.
I’m telling you it’s time to stop living day to day and one to do list to the next.
You were given so many gifts..
You just haven’t used them yet.
Now is the time to begin your true journey, to find your wings and finally,
Learn how to fly.
You’re exactly where you need to be and you’re just the right blend of all the best things..
So start believing in yourself.
Look in that mirror.
See that deep soulful person staring back at you?
She’s been waiting for you to wake up and remember her again.
You lost her so long ago, but she never left.
She just needed a little spark to come back to life and light your fire.
So instead of trying to get by with being a candle in the wind,
It’s time for you to light up the night with your fire…
Bright, beautiful and full of passion,
You’ll soon find that there’s nothing you can’t do if you pour all of yourself into it.
Stop waiting.
Stop believing the bad stuff.
Stop asking other people to validate you.
You’re brave, darling..you’re strong and most of all, you’ll always be more than enough.
You deserve the best..
