In the old days, Yule was not simply a show.
It was kept by those who could stand the cold, do the work, and share what was on the table.
We finished the work day we set out to do: we brought down the tree, got the site handled, and put real hands-on effort into building something that lasts.
This is the kind of work that carries a year forward—not empty resolutions spoken in warmth, but effort given in the cold. What we build now is what makes the new year strong.
We do this so our folk are stronger in real, material ways—by improving one another’s land, homes, and livelihoods, and by showing up when help is needed. This is how lives are changed: not by words, but by work.
Afterward, we broke bread with brunch from a local German bakery—simple, hearty, and exactly the kind of fellowship this season is meant to carry.
Join us in January as we kick off the new year with a celebration of the strength of the mighty Thunder God at Thorrablot!
