Zickefoose Lip Exerciser-ZLE

We now offer two sizes of lip exercisers: a thicker version inspired by Bill Zickefoose and a thinner version developed by Dr. Honor Franklin. Both are the same price and are selected based on patient factors such as age, a shortened upper lip, and individual needs.

Most patients prefer the thinner exercisers (pink or red string), which we use with the majority of our pediatric patients. We also offer a thicker exerciser (blue string) that is used with some adult patients, although many adults also do well with the thinner option. The only difference between the two is the thickness of the material, which varies by 1 mm.

***This section will only fully make sense if you have purchased Dr. Honor Franklin’s course. When placing an order, if you would like a specific string thickness, please note this on the order form. If you have not purchased the course, or if no preference is indicated on the order form, your order will be shipped with the default starting string thickness.

Tongue cribs, tongue reminders, etc. Do not work. Look at the markings on her tongue. These appliances do not teach the tongue where to rest nor does it close the lips. It only teaches the tongue to avoid the punishment.

Oral habit appliances like this are antiquated and do NOT work.
