Who can benefit from hospice care?

Hospice care may be the right choice for individuals who are:

* Facing a prognosis of six months or less
* Experiencing little or no relief from current treatments
* Making frequent hospital visits
* Experiencing rapid declines in physical or mental abilities

If you or a loved one are navigating these challenges, hospice care can offer comfort, support and dignity during this time. 🧡💜

Enhabit Home Health & Hospice honors all who have served — including our patients and team members. Among them is First Sgt. Wayne, a Vietnam veteran who served 22 years in the U.S. Army and earned five Purple Hearts.

Wayne was recently recognized in a special pinning ceremony through the We Honor Veterans program. A veteran branch director and a volunteer veteran presented him with a certificate, a commemorative pin and a flag blanket. They spent time with Wayne and his family, listening to his story — and to his wife Barbara’s reflections on life as the spouse of a five-time Purple Heart recipient.

At Enhabit, we are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our nation’s veterans.

Adam C., a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 3rd Infantry Division, began volunteering with Enhabit in 2023. As a hospice volunteer, he connects with fellow veterans receiving end-of-life care, offering companionship and a shared understanding of military service.

“I chose hospice volunteering to give back to the veterans who paved the way for future service members,” Adam said.

Adam also serves as commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6867 in Boaz, Alabama. He actively supports organizations and events that uplift the veteran community. Outside of his volunteer work, Adam enjoys restoring vintage vehicles, farming and gardening. He considers his two children his greatest accomplishment.
