“Will they judge me?”
“Will someone see me?”
“What will they say?”

For many adolescents, these questions come before seeking access to adolescent sexual and reproductive health services (ASRH) due to the stigma around access.

Stigma turns access to ASRH into a source of fear.

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote adolescent health, we have been conducting ASRH community dialogues and training health workers in Lwengo District .

These dialogues and training sessions are also a response to stigma because they:

✅ Enable young people to speak openly without fear of judgment
✅ Health workers can better understand and respond to adolescents’ needs
✅ Misconceptions and biases can be challenged

When we address stigma, we open doors to better health outcomes for adolescents.

Last year, we turned boda boda stages and garages in Masaka City into spaces for learning and discussing sexual and Reproductive Health .

These conversations are critical because informed men make healthier choices for themselves, their partners, and their families.

They create safe spaces where adolescents can ask questions, learn, and receive care without fear.

Nanziri Getrude, a resident of Senero landing site in Kalangala District, is one of the thousands of Ugandans who can now access essential healthcare services without the financial and physical burden of traveling long distances.

Through our Medicycles program, we bring government doctors, nurses, and medicines directly to remote communities every month.

More than 100 patients served. One community reached. A big step forward.

We recently held our first integrated outreach clinic in Butebeyi Village, Namayingo District in partnership with the dedicated health workers from Mutumba HC III.

Through this outreach, 115 patients accessed essential health services closer to home reducing the need for long, costly journeys to distant health facilities.

This is what integrated care looks like:

✅ Bringing health services directly to communities
✅ Working hand-in-hand with local health workers
✅ Removing barriers to access

At Health Access Connect, we believe healthcare access should not depend on where you live.
