Get to know Katie:
Over the years, I've tried countless workouts. From biking to HIIT classes, running, and even jumping on a tiny trampoline, I always come back to yoga. Yoga is a lifelong practice. It's not a skill that requires you to be the strongest person in the room, or the most flexible. It's yours to shape and own according to your needs. And it’s the only practice that's allowed me to connect back to myself after giving so much to external forces. I anticipate that feeling when I leave class: mind clear, body relaxed, and soul is at its center.
That said, yoga has always been my way to destress and ground myself. It wasn't until my 200 hr teacher training that I became fascinated with yoga philosophy and how easily I can weave the concepts into my everyday life. Treating myself and others with kindness, shedding away preconceived judgements, and discovering the power of inner peace are just a few of the many tenets that transformed my relationship with yoga.
During my classes, you can find me leading a mix of power and mellow flows, in a vinyasa style. I invite anyone who wants to reconnect to their mind, body, and soul to join me in a practice. This is where we can take time to forget who we are within the limitations of external labels- wife, husband, mother, father, employee, friend and sink deeper into our bodies and self-awareness through intentional movement.
I live in Shavertown with my husband and daughter (2). Im happiest with a coffee in hand walking outside with a loved one. I work full time at a local Behavoiral Health company and on the side I’m enjoying supporting moms through birth as a doula.
