Black History Month means something personal to me.
It’s about legacy.
It’s about resilience.
It’s about service.
Long before many of us had access to opportunities in healthcare, there were pioneers who pushed through discrimination, lack of resources, and systemic barriers — not just to succeed, but to serve.
Because of leaders like Dr. Charles Drew and Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, generations of Black healthcare providers were able to step into spaces that once excluded them.
Today, I’m honored to work alongside friends and family who are nurses, therapists, physicians, techs, and providers — people who show up daily for our community with compassion and excellence.
Representation in healthcare matters.
It builds trust.
It improves outcomes.
It changes lives.
To every Black healthcare professional making a difference — past and present — thank you.
