āØļø Midweek reminder: "If you have time to breathe, you have time to meditate."
One of the most common things I hear from clients, colleagues, and even high performing leaders is:
āI just donāt have time to meditate.ā
And believe me, I understand. It took me years to dial into this concept and believe I had time.... even as a therapist š©. In a world of deadlines, meetings, and constant demands, taking a moment to sit still can feel unrealistic. It can even feel indulgent if we were to be honest. But here is the truth.
Your breath is more than oxygen.
It is a direct line to your nervous system. It influences your heart rate, blood pressure, emotional reactivity, and even how clearly you think under pressure.
When you slow and deepen your breathing, you send a signal to your body to shift into a state of balance and restoration. This is not just about feeling calm. It is a measurable shift that:
⢠Lowers stress hormones
⢠Improves heart rate variability
⢠Enhances emotional regulation and clarity
⢠Strengthens resilience to daily stress
One of the biggest misconceptions about meditation is that it requires sitting for 30 minutes. BUT the truth is, meditation can be:
⢠Three intentional breaths before opening an email.
⢠60 seconds of awareness between meetings.
⢠Pausing to notice your heartbeat before speaking in a high stakes conversation.
The illusion is that you do not have time.
The reality is you already have the most important tool you need... your breath.
Next time you feel too busy to meditate, remember: If you have time to breathe, you have time to regulate, reset, and restore.
š« So, let's check in: When was the last time you gave yourself one quiet, intentional minute?
