🌸 We had a blooming good time at our hands-on orchid care session with Master Gardener Gina Woods! 🌼✨
Gina shared her expert tips on:
🌞 How much sunlight & water orchids actually need
🪴 The best soil mixes and when to repot
🌸 When (and when not) to use fertilizer
💭 And most importantly — why orchids sometimes refuse to rebloom!

Residents brought in their own orchids — including plenty that needed some extra TLC — and Gina offered personalized advice to help each plant thrive. 🌿💚
It was the perfect event for plant lovers and anyone hoping to bring their blooms back to life! 🌺✨

♻️ Texas Recycles Day 2025 ♻️

We’re grateful to have been part of this amazing event, collecting 880 skeins of yarn to help us spread warmth and creativity in our community.

Huge thanks to Michael, Sr. Waste Reduction Coordinator and the Texas Recycles Day team at the City of Plano, Texas Government for their partnership, and to Elizabeth, our dedicated volunteer who makes this an annual tradition!

✨ What a heartwarming afternoon! ✨

A group of young volunteers from Lemon Aide Society spent time playing chair Balloon volleyball with our residents — and the energy was contagious! While playing, the girls cheered on one another and the residents with enthusiastic shouts of “Yes, [name]!” 💪👏

After the games, the group had a chance to chat with residents and learn more about their lives. When asked their favorite meal, the most popular answer was brunch—no surprise there! 🥞☕

Residents also shared stories about their past professions, which fascinated everyone. ❤️

The volunteers were especially inspired by a couple married for almost 70 years who played side by side. 💕

We wrapped up the visit with a reflection session, where the young volunteers shared their favorite moments and what they learned from spending the afternoon with our amazing residents.

So many smiles, stories, and special connections — a truly beautiful day across generations! 🌸

Our residents and staff lit up the stage with stand-up jokes, dancing, music, singing, poetry readings, and so much more. The talent (and fun!) at Legacy Midtown Park truly knows no bounds. 🌟

This International Volunteer Managers Day, we’re proud to recognize the incredible dedication of Veronica France (The Legacy Willow Bend), Heather Rey (The Legacy at Home), and Rivae Campo (The Legacy Midtown Park) — our volunteer leaders at The Legacy Senior Communities.

Their commitment to kindness, connection, and community shines through everything they do. From coordinating impactful programs to supporting volunteers who serve across our campuses and in homes, they lead with compassion and purpose every day.

We are so grateful for their leadership and for all that they do to support our mission and the people we serve.

🎨🐘 Our art class with Ginger had a wildly fun time bringing a burst of color and creativity to life with our latest muse — Hilda the Hippo! 💜💛💚
Each artist added their own unique touch, and together we discovered just how many personalities one hippo can have — from bold and sassy to calm and whimsical. 🖌️✨

We were honored to host Jennifer Neuwelt Doralt, daughter of residents of The Legacy Midtown Park; a fifth-generation Jewish woman from Vienna, Austria, for a powerful and moving presentation. 🇦🇹✡️
Jennifer shared her family’s story — one marked by survival, loss, and resilience during the Shoah (the Holocaust) — and offered insight into how that history continues to shape Vienna’s Jewish community today. She also spoke about the new energy and vitality brought by recent waves of Jewish immigrants, painting a picture of both remembrance and renewal.
We’re so grateful to Jennifer for her openness, warmth, and thoughtful reflections, and to everyone who joined us for this meaningful conversation. 💙

🎶✨ The Legacy Midtown Park was delighted to welcome the Ann & Nate Levine Academy Show Choir to our community for a truly beautiful performance! 🎤💙
Residents were treated to an uplifting morning of music as talented 5th–8th grade students filled the Sanctuary with harmony, joy, and incredible energy. Their voices and enthusiasm brought smiles all around — it was a morning to remember! 🌟
A huge thank you to the Levine Academy Show Choir for sharing your talents with us and brightening everyone’s day. 👏🎵

🍂 What a Fall-tastic Time! 🎨🦙📸

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Block Party! From creative art activities and build-your-own snacks and fall-flavored sno cones, to adorable moments at the petting zoo and plenty of photo ops — the day was filled with laughter, color, and community spirit. 🍁✨

We’re especially thankful to the jewishdallas, Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas for their support in providing volunteers from Texas Instruments — your help made the event even more special! 💛

The celebration continued into the Fall Into Fun Happy Hour with Marty Ruiz Entertainment, where guests enjoyed seasonal cocktails, delicious bites, and incredible live music that captured the cozy charm of autumn. 🎶🍸

We loved seeing so many smiling faces and festive fall vibes throughout the day — thank you for making it such a success! ❤️

Ron shared his father Charles Schwarz’s remarkable story of survival, courage, and hope during the Holocaust — a powerful reminder of the enduring strength of the human spirit. Through his heartfelt storytelling and extensive research, Ron brought history to life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone in attendance. 🕯️💙
