I started teaching at the Texas A&M dental school in their AEGD program this past August. It’s been so fun sharing from my experiences and helping to show the residents a different methods of doing dentistry. It’s been such a fun and rewarding experience so far. Grateful to be involved with such good program and university!

Here’s a five year follow up on an onlay we did. This is was needed due to an amalgam silver filling that fractured. Always love to see these results! There’s no signs of this slowing down. No pain, no symptoms, it’s been smooth sailing so far. He’s a happy patient especially considering that the patient originally thought he’d need a root canal and crown. I’d call it a win!

Check out the before and after on this recent Invisalign case we recently finished. The case was finished in about 24 weeks. Once we were finished, we added some cosmetic bondings to enhance some areas. Love how this turned out!

Peep the before and after on these veneers. Veneers are a great way to enhance tooth shape, color, texture, as well as chipped areas. A little known fact about veneers is that if done properly and conservatively, they are a great treatment option to restore teeth to how they were before the damage or decay was done, actually making them stronger. 💪

Yes, we work on kids too! This is actually one of our most common questions. Biomimetic dentistry and kids actually go hand in hand. We do 98% of all of our work on kids without having to get them numb. We’re super meticulous about how we remove the decay and where we need to remove it. By being cautious and careful we can do all the work without the kids feeling a thing! This means easier, faster, and more enjoyable appointments for the little ones!

Changing out old amalgams that are basically ‘locked in’ the tooth for a new restoration that is properly bonded is one of my favorites things to do. It can prevent so many big issues from arising, like cracked teeth, big areas of decay etc. Amalgams, or silver fillings, are too hard for the tooth. They act like a wedge in the tooth causing it to move and flex unnaturally until a cusp or two is fractured off. Removing them before this happens, allows me to be more conservative and preserve more tooth structure for you. Win - win for everyone.

This patient came in expecting me to say this tooth needs a root canal and a crown. At least that’s what she was told in the past by a few dentist. We tested this tooth numerous times at different visit and it always tested to be alive. My recommendation was an onlay for this. No root canal. No crown. If we’re able to intervene with treatment early enough in the disease process, it’s almost certain that we won’t need a root canal. It all depends on the symptoms that are being experienced. If we’re able to treat early enough, the body is amazing at rebounding and healing without needing a root canal. The best part is that we did this treatment nearly three years ago and it’s still going strong. I’d expect this to last a very long time. This is what’s amazing with biomimetics. We can avoid so many costly and invasive traditional procedures. To me this is a success 🙌 What would you consider a success?
