When AccentCare Hospice patient, Francis (known as “Cox,” by his loved ones) approached his 100th birthday, our team in Lubbock, Texas, rallied to make sure it would be unforgettable. 🎉

With support from teams across sites, volunteers, and clinical staff, they surprised him with an album filled with birthday cards. Francis read every one — smiling the entire time — even asking for his glasses so he wouldn’t miss a word.

Moments like this reflect what hospice care truly is — compassion, teamwork, and honoring life at all stages. 💙

Today is Valentine’s Day, and AccentCare is honoring Elizabeth and Norman — a love story more than 65 years in the making. 💌💘

In 2024, Elizabeth started receiving care from AccentCare Hospice in Clearwater, Florida. Shortly after in February 2025, Norman also began receiving our hospice care. As they had done throughout their lives, they approached this chapter as a team — side by side. This allowed the couple to spend 10 months in care together, focused on what mattered most — comfort, connection and the support they have for one another.

Elizabeth knew Norman was her person because of his patience — the steady presence, quiet support, and deep understanding that carried them through a lifetime together — care that AccentCare Hospice created space for. 💙

According to Elizabeth, the secret to longevity in marriage is to “try to always see your partner’s point of view.”
