Nearly 20 years as a plastic surgeon and I have a confession.
I have absolutely no idea what a C cup is.
Turns out a “C cup” at Victoria’s Secret and a “C cup” at Nordstrom can differ by up to 350cc. That’s basically an entire implant size.
So when patients tell me they want a C cup, I smile and nod. Then I ask for photos and pull up our 3D imaging.
Pictures, cc’s, 3D images, and goals. That’s the only language that actually works.

You’ve done the research. You’ve watched the videos, read the reviews, and you’re pretty sure you know exactly what procedure you need. Here’s our advice: don’t lead with that.
Come in and tell your surgeon what bothers you. The loose skin under your chin. The way your eyes are looking tired. Let the doctor take it from there. The moment you walk in and say “I want a deep plane facelift and an upper blepharoplasty,” you’ve put them in a box, and you’ve let the internet make your treatment plan.
The best consultations start open-ended. As the saying goes on what might be the greatest plastic surgery show ever made, Nip Tuck: tell me what you don’t like about yourself. We’re not quite that dramatic in the office, but the principle holds. Describe what you see. Let your surgeon connect the dots.

Is Motiva Preservé right for you?

Here are three signs you might be a great candidate:

• You like how your breasts look in a push-up bra, but wish they looked like that all the time.
• You already have a reasonable amount of breast tissue and want a very natural result.
• You want better upper fullness and projection while preserving as much of your natural breast anatomy as possible.

Motiva Preservé isn’t the best option for everyone. Patients with significant drooping, very little upper pole tissue, or those wanting a dramatic size increase may be better suited to other approaches.

If your implants are 30 to 40 years old, there is a good chance they are ruptured. 👀
Here is the thing though. A ruptured saline implant is pretty obvious (it deflates), but silicone? Not always so easy to spot. That is why in-office ultrasound has become such a game changer. Patients can actually SEE what is happening inside their own body in real time, right on an iPad.
And once they see a rupture for themselves? They tend to book surgery immediately!
