🚫 No smoke β‰  no risk.

Ni****ne pouches might look small and harmless, but they can have real health consequences for teens:

🦷 Gum damage: Sitting on your gums can cause irritation, recession, and early gum disease
πŸ’” Heart stress: Ni****ne increases heart rate and blood pressure, putting strain on your heart
🧠 Brain impact: Ni****ne can affect attention, memory, and mood especially in a developing teen brain
⚠️ Addiction risk: Easy to hide and use often, ni****ne pouches can quickly lead to dependence

Even small pouches can have big effects. Know the risks and make choices that protect your health.

Children of addiction often grow up too fast, learning how to survive instead of how to be kids.

During Children of Addiction Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on the silent strength of young people impacted by substance use in their families and reminding them they are not alone, not invisible, and not to blame.

Awareness leads to compassion. Compassion leads to prevention. πŸ’›

Our Story

The Region 3 Prevention Resource Center (PRC) is one of 11 Centers in the State of Texas that conducts activities aimed at improving substance abuse prevention strategies in our community. Focusing on alcohol (specifically underage drinking), ma*****na and prescription drugs, the PRC serves as a central data collection repository. The PRC encourages school districts in North Central Texas to administer the Texas School Survey, conducted by the Texas A&M Public Policy Research Institute. This survey provides local data and enhances our ability to make data-driven decisions when planning substance abuse prevention strategies. The PRC also identifies regional training needs and resources, and coordinates substance abuse prevention training opportunities for local community, county, and state organizations. For more information visit www.prc3.org.
