The LHSON is excited to introduce its new podcast called "Bears of Light" where faith and nursing walk hand in hand. Each week we step into the sacred spaces where care meets calling. We share stories of nurses walking in Christ’s light — guided by compassion and grace, sustained by prayer. From scripture reflections to voices spanning every corner of nursing—this is more than a podcast, it’s a place of light, legacy, and love.

Baylor University is well-represented again on a prestigious list compiling the top 2% most-cited researchers in the world. In a database compiled by Stanford University, 42 current or retired Baylor faculty members appear among the top 2% of the most-cited researchers across 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. The LHSON is proud to have Karen J. Foli, Ph.D., R.N., Louise Herrington Endowed Chair for Mental Health Nursing and Professor of Nursing listed among the prestigious faculty members at Baylor.

On behalf of the LHSON we want to thank all Veterans for their service. What a blessing they are to our country. Happy Veterans Day!

We honor our current faculty and staff that are veterans including: Dr. Beth Hultquist, U.S. Army, Dr. Alona Angosta, LT, U.S. Navy, Tommy Fisher, Navy Corpsman, (combat medic) and Pricilla Welch, U.S. Army. We also thank our undergraduate and graduate students who have served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corp, and the U.S. Public Health Service.

Additionally, we acknowledge the military service of LHSON students and faculty in our Army-Baylor LHSON U.S. Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN).
