In June of 2009 I was diagnosed with Retinopathy in my left eye. The disease damages the walls of the Retina. This causes swelling and allows blood vessels to grow where they should not grow. Because of the damage a blood vessel grew our into the vitrous and hemorrhaged. At first i couldn't see anything out of my left eye. As the blood dissipated, I could see better. The bleeding caused scar tissue in the vitrous right in front of the retina.
As a result everything I look at is wavy and distorted.The treatment for this has been an injection in my eyeball every sis to eight weeks. The medicine they inject is to reduce the swelling in the retina wall and to prevent blood vessels from growing out into the vitrous and causing further loss of vision.
In September of 2014 I was diagnosed with macular degeneration in my right eye. The retina specialist suggested I take PreserVision Areds 2 by Bauch and Lomb.
