☘️ St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Dallas Retirement Village!
Life Enrichment hosted a festive morning social filled with sweet treats—donuts, cupcakes, cookies—and plenty of coffee. Residents enjoyed a chance to eat, chat, and celebrate the day together in a warm, cheerful atmosphere.

This month’s theme at Little Sprouts Childcare is Community Helpers, making it the perfect time for two special morning visits from our local first responders.
On Wednesday, the Dallas Fire Department stopped by. Firefighters, EMTs, and first responders taught the children about the vital roles they play in keeping our community safe. The kids loved seeing real gear up close, asking questions, and meeting the heroes who protect the people of Dallas every day.
Then on Thursday, an officer from the Dallas Police Department visited. The officer shared about their role in keeping the community safe and the many ways they support our community. The little ones were excited to meet the officer and learn about the important work they do.
A big thank‑you to both the Dallas Fire & EMS and the Dallas Oregon Police Department for taking the time to visit Little Sprouts and for the incredible work they do throughout our community.

Spring Creativity in Full Bloom! 🌹🌷
A great group of residents recently gathered with Life Enrichment Coordinator Lori to create festive Spring/Easter crafts. Participants had the option to make either a bunny or a cross, and each project was double‑sided, allowing for even more creative decorating.
The room was filled with color, laughter, and plenty of fun as everyone explored different ways to personalize their designs.
Such a joyful way to welcome the season!

🎉 Bingo Fun at Dallas Retirement Village! 🎉
Bingo is a long-time favorite at Dallas Retirement Village, with games happening each Monday and Wednesday. This week included a fun extra treat — students from Perrydale School District’s Service Learning class stopped by to host an additional bingo session today!
The bonus game was open to the entire Dallas Retirement Village campus and brought a nice mix of residents together for a relaxed afternoon of conversation, smiles, and playful competition.
A warm thank‑you to the Perrydale students for adding a little extra fun to the week!

ADVENTURE + SNOW = FACEBOOK FAMOUS!
Last week’s bit of snow led to quite a memorable adventure for two Dallas Retirement Village residents!
The ladies decided to take a scenic drive out by Falls City. Things changed quickly with the change in elevation, and as the snow grew deeper and deeper... these lovely adventurers eventually found their car stuck! A kind passerby spotted them, snapped a photo, and posted it to Facebook asking the community for help.

Before long, the post spread… and suddenly the two adventurers were Facebook famous! 😂From comments of concern, to admiring their smiles for embracing the experience- the SOS post received a lot of interaction. One Facebook spectator even took the time to create an AI generated rendition of their original photo which depict this moment in time- perfectly!
Thankfully, help arrived quickly and they made it home safe and sound—just a little more famous than when they left.
And the best part? Some staff members saw the Facebook post before the ladies even made it back to campus! It definitely gave everyone at DRV a good laugh and a story that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
A perfect reminder that adventure doesn’t stop as you age — if anything, it becomes even more memorable. 💙

Ila comes to Dallas from Florence, OR, where she had lived since the age of 10. She is the proud mother of four daughters who hold a very special place in her heart.

Last Friday’s Valentine’s Day social brought all the sweet vibes! Residents enjoyed warm, tasty fondue paired with an assortment of delicious treats and snacks perfect for dipping. Mimosas and sparkling cider added a festive sparkle to the afternoon, creating the ideal celebration atmosphere.
Residents also participated in a variety of games, with prizes handed out to the winners throughout the event.
A heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the celebration memorable. ❤️

Love is in the air at Dallas Retirement Village! ❤️
For Valentine’s Day, Life Enrichment created a heartfelt display featuring wedding photos from some residents, each paired with their love story — how they met, how long they dated, special details from their wedding day, and the years they’ve shared since.
The photos and stories are now hanging in the Sky Bridge for everyone to enjoy, and it’s been so meaningful seeing residents, families, and team members stop to read and reminisce together.
