Dallas Retirement Village was delighted to welcome back Darrell Jabin, Oregon’s Traveling Historian. Darrell has visited the community many times, each visit captivating residents with fascinating stories from Oregon’s rich past.
Today's presentation took residents on a fun and surprising journey through the history of Oregon’s amusement parks—including stories of one of the largest amusement parks in the nation and one of the oldest amusement parks still operating today.
Through dozens of trips across Oregon, Darrell has collected unique and memorable stories, and his passion for history truly brings these experiences to life. Thank you, Darrell, for sharing your knowledge and love of Oregon history with the Dallas Retirement Village community.

Dallas Retirement Village recently welcomed 3rd–5th grade students from Perrydale School District for a performance of their spring musical, Shrek. The production filled the morning with humor, energy, and plenty of personality, highlighted by impressive performances from the young cast.
Thank you, Perrydale, for bringing music, laughter, and ogre‑the‑top enthusiasm.💚

💙 April is Child Abuse Awareness Month 💙
Dallas Retirement Village is proud to partner with CASA of Polk County in support of child abuse awareness and the safety of children in our community. Throughout April, we are displaying blue pinwheels as a visible reminder that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment.
We encourage everyone to see something, say something, and stand up for children—because awareness paired with action truly makes a difference.

💙 Pump It for Parkinson’s—We Did It! 💙
Dallas Retirement Village was proud to participate in Pump It for Parkinson's, and the community showed up in a BIG way! 👣✨
Together, residents and staff walked nearly 300,000 steps in one day, all to highlight the powerful benefits of exercise for people living with Parkinson’s disease. The photo here captures just some of the amazing team members sporting their “Pump It for Parkinson’s” shirts—proof that teamwork (and great shirts!) make all the difference.
A huge part of this success comes from our Wellness Team (pictured in the second photo), who work every day to keep our community moving, motivated, and having fun. They offer a wide variety of classes including weightlifting, yoga (both chair and mat), water aerobics, Drums Alive!, and so much more. And they’re not slowing down—our Wellness Team is already brainstorming new classes and programs to bring even more options to our residents in the future!

🐣🌷 Easter Egg Hunt This Saturday! 🌷🐣
Don’t forget — Dallas Retirement Village and Dallas Church are hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow at 11:00 am!
Our residents have been hard at work and lovingly stuffed more than 3,000 Easter eggs, so there’s plenty of fun to go around! 🥚✨
Bring the little ones for a joyful morning filled with colorful eggs, big smiles, and community spirit. The event is open to all children, so feel free to invite friends, neighbors, and family members.

🎉 Check Out The Dallas Retirement Village Indoor Pool Waterslide!
That’s right—residents can now enjoy a thrilling ride straight into the warm pool, perfect for low‑impact cardio, speedy lap‑lane entry, or just spicing up Water Aerobics classes. Goggles recommended! 😄

While we won’t be installing a waterslide in our indoor pool (as fun as that sounds!), we are always looking for ways to bring joy, laughter, and community to our residents. And sometimes that includes a little silliness. 💙

☘️ St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Dallas Retirement Village!
Life Enrichment hosted a festive morning social filled with sweet treats—donuts, cupcakes, cookies—and plenty of coffee. Residents enjoyed a chance to eat, chat, and celebrate the day together in a warm, cheerful atmosphere.
A wonderful way to start the day!

This month’s theme at Little Sprouts Childcare is Community Helpers, making it the perfect time for two special morning visits from our local first responders.
On Wednesday, the Dallas Fire Department stopped by. Firefighters, EMTs, and first responders taught the children about the vital roles they play in keeping our community safe. The kids loved seeing real gear up close, asking questions, and meeting the heroes who protect the people of Dallas every day.
Then on Thursday, an officer from the Dallas Police Department visited. The officer shared about their role in keeping the community safe and the many ways they support our community. The little ones were excited to meet the officer and learn about the important work they do.
A big thank‑you to both the Dallas Fire & EMS and the Dallas Oregon Police Department for taking the time to visit Little Sprouts and for the incredible work they do throughout our community.
