A special celebration recently took place at Dallas Retirement Village as the RAE (Residents Appreciate Employees) Committee hosted their annual party to present year-end gifts to hourly employees. 🎉
Throughout the year, the RAE Committee organizes a variety of fundraisers to make these bonuses possible—all as a heartfelt way for residents to say thank you. It’s a meaningful reflection of the appreciation residents have for the more than 300 hourly employees who care for and support the community each day- these are the dining servers, housekeepers, care staff and maintenance personnel that support and care for them daily.
The celebration included great food, plenty of conversation, and lots of smiles. Be sure to check out the video to catch a glimpse of this well-deserved moment of appreciation in action. 💙

At Dallas Retirement Village, creativity and teamwork come to life! Throughout the year, a group of residents gathered in the Hobby Center working side by side to transform simple pieces of wood into handcrafted toy cars and trucks. From carving and assembling to painting and decorating, every toy is made with loving care.
During the holidays, these one-of-a-kind creations are delivered to children in need, including those supported by CASA of Polk County Inc., Sable House, Community Action Head Start, and The Kindness Club, Dallas Oregon.
A giant thank you to the toy makers at Dallas Retirement Village for spreading joy and smiles across Polk County this holiday season! ❤️

The Christmas Town Parade was full of holiday cheer on Saturday, and Dallas Retirement Village was delighted to take part in the celebration! Our float—designed to resemble a scene from the classic Dr. Seuss story How the Grinch Stole Christmas, complete with “Max” the dog—brought plenty of smiles along the parade route.
A big shoutout to the Plant Operations team for their creativity and hard work in bringing Rudolph and the sleigh to life—their efforts truly shined. Thank you as well to the Dallas Retirement Village residents who rode along and helped spread holiday cheer to all the spectators. We appreciate you!
It was wonderful to share the joy of the season with the community during this special annual tradition. ❤️✨

A Splash of Creativity at Dallas Retirement Village!

The pool room just got a vibrant makeover thanks to local artists Craig Downs and Candice Fulton of Wall Together Now. They led the way in creating a stunning Pacific Northwest-themed mural using their signature paint-by-numbers technique.

Residents and staff of all artistic levels joined in the fun—whether seasoned painters or first-time brush holders. Every stroke added to a colorful scene that now brightens the space and stands as a lasting reminder of community collaboration.

Today, everyone can proudly point out the spots they helped paint, knowing they were part of something beautiful—and feeling truly special for leaving their mark on a space that will be enjoyed for years to come.

This Thanksgiving season is a time for reflection, gratitude, and giving- and the Wishing Tree at Dallas Retirement Village is a beautiful representation of all three.

The inspiration came from Tawnya, our Marketing Director, and her husband Andy's journey through his leukemia treatment. While staying at the Rood Family Pavilion (aka the Ronald McDonald House), they noticed a Wishing Tree filled with handwritten messages of hope, healing, and encouragement- a powerful reminder, in a time of uncertainty, that no one is alone.

Their experience sparked the idea to bring a similar space of support and kindness to Dallas Retirement Village.

With help from Facility Operations Director Dale, artist Kerry Ellwood, and the generous support of the Dallas Retirement Village Foundation, the vision came to life.

Today, the Wishing Tree stands on the first floor of the Clubhouse, ready for residents, staff, and guests to leave notes of gratitude, hope, prayer, and heartfelt encouragement for one another.

This Thanksgiving- and throughout the year- the Wishing Tree serves as a reminder of the strength of community and the kindness that continues to grow within it.
