We all want that healthy life balance, but we also want results. What’s a girl (or guy) to do?

1. Go back and listen to parts 1 and 2.

2. Plan for your worst days. We simply don’t know what tomorrow may bring, but it doesn’t have to derail us completely. A plan for the perfect day is not a reliable one because you may not get to use it as much as you would like. In a nutshell: make your bad days not so bad.

I do sincerely hope your good days outnumber the bad. Makes me think of a favorite song from my days:

May all of your dreams bloom like daisies in the sun.
May you always have stars in your eyes.
May you not stop running, not until your race is run.
May you always have blue skies.

But just in case it’s raining or you have to limp, consider your non-negotiables. Need help or ideas? Send me a DM🤍

So maybe 80/20 IS enough if we are, in fact, doing what we think we are doing 80% of the time. Which we may not….
Time to do some math, which can be a bit of a gut punch, but can also be pretty helpful so we aren’t telling ourselves we are broken or have a slow metabolism or whatever it is you say to yourself when your goals seem unreachable. WHICH THEY ARE NOT.
But winging it with “balance” isn’t a reliable strategy on its own.
What to do?
Pt. 3 tomorrow.

I’m not here to tell you that you need different goals, but it does matter that you understand the likely result of what you are actually doing. This is the sweet spot of health coaching - matching expectations with goals and actions.
And newsflash: all those shredded people on the internet are probably not 80/20. Just saying😉

You can do hard things. But you can also do less-hard things😉

This is a simple example, and we have all heard that perfect is the enemy of good, but sometimes you need to slow down, ask yourself some questions, and see if your all-or-nothing thinking is stalling your movement forward.

Sometimes you need to do the most, that is true.
And sometimes the most is simply in your way.

All my clients are go-getting, hard-working, intelligent people, and ALL of them battle all-or-nothing thinking because of it. They are capable of anything, but tired of feeling stuck and want better way.

If this is you, send me a DM. Or just save this when you need to remember that doing a little less might actually be helpful.

This is what I’ve come to know: health should make you less focused on yourself so you can see what is around you. People, places, experiences. It’s in the noticing. Looking up and looking around instead of fixating on yourself all the time.
It’s time to learn what works for YOU so you don’t fall prey to every new diet hack and trend, so you can love your life whether you’re in college or staring at half-time. Self-obsession is unfulfilling. Real wellness gets you out of yourself and into the world.
Send me a DM if this is what you’re looking for. I’ve got some exciting new ways to support and connect with you and I can’t wait to share!

Simple, repeatable breakfasts that give me what I need are one of the best ways to manage all the eating out and parties and treats over the holidays. I like to start with high protein, some fiber, and lower calorie to fill me up and fit in what might come later. Save and share! This is a good one and we already know I can’t get enough of it.
