“Why does my child keep asking the same question?”
“I already reassured them.”
“They just can’t let it go.”
Sometimes that’s anxiety.
But sometimes it’s OCD, where the brain gets stuck in a loop of fear → relief → fear again.
The difference matters because reassurance alone won’t break the cycle.
What kids actually need is help learning how to tolerate the discomfort of uncertainty.
And when parents understand the difference, everything starts to make more sense.
Your child’s brain just needs the right kind of support. For more info email Kate at kate@corbellacounseling.com or visit our website www.corbellacounseling.com

Please join up for a new conjoint teen and parent group centered around values-based framework that helps teens better understand who they are, what matters to them, and how they want to show up in the world.

The teenage years are a time for growth, identity exploration, and life changes. This group is designed to support teens as they discover their values, strengths, and beliefs, while also helping parents better understand their teen’s inner world. Together, teens and parents will practice communicating in ways that build trust and connection.

The goal is deeper understanding, mutual respect, and a shared language for navigating the teen years together.

This week, Rosalynn Petrutsas had the opportunity to guest lecture at SMU, talking with education majors about how trauma-informed practices can show up in real classrooms.
The thoughtfulness, compassion, and care these future educators brought into the conversation was genuinely hopeful. It’s powerful to see how open and committed they already are to creating spaces where students feel safe, understood, and supported.
We’re really proud of the way Rosalynn continues to bring this work beyond the therapy room and into the community. 🤍

Kate works with children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate through life’s highs and lows. Kate works mainly through a narrative lens, allowing and empowering her clients to take control of their own story and the way in which it is told. She enjoys adding elements of attachment-based therapy, play therapy, and internal family systems in her sessions as well. Kate is grounded in the belief that we are all experiencing life for the first time - in a world where grace can feel hard to come by, Kate guides her clients to give grace to themselves. Drawing heavily from her own lived experience in therapy, Kate approaches the therapeutic relationship with an emphasis on the power of a simple, authentic, and vulnerable human connection.

BlancaboufitzHealing doesn’t begin by pushing into the hardest moments.
It begins by helping your body experience enough safety to stay present.
Resourcing is the foundation of trauma-informed work.
It supports the nervous system in settling and regulating in the here and now, so the past can be approached without overwhelm.
Research in trauma therapy shows that when the nervous system feels safe and regulated, the brain has greater capacity to integrate difficult experiences.
That’s why we start here.
Inner Sanctuary is a guided resourcing experience using sound, rhythm, and intentional grounding to support nervous system regulation.
No trauma processing.
No reliving.
No pressure to share.
Next Saturday, 01/31 2:00–4:00 pm

But your nervous system doesn’t heal through effort.
It heals through safety.
The Inner Sanctuary is not trauma processing.
There is no sharing.
No reliving.
No pushing past your edges.
This is a trauma informed resourcing and sound experience, led by a licensed trauma therapist, created to support internal safety and regulation.
A gentle space for your nervous system to settle.
A soft place to land.

There are parts of us that learned to stay alert.
To hold it together.
To keep going.

A place to slow the nervous system, reconnect with safety inside, and remember what it feels like to rest without disappearing.
January 31st | 2:00–4:00 PM
Intentionally limited to 15 participants.
A quiet afternoon of resourcing, sound, and guided regulation.
You don’t have to arrive calm.
You just have to arrive. Details + registration
