We've shared information about out our cardiac calcium scores, but people have asked for more details.

How is the score done? The procedure is done with a CT scanner (CAT scan) and does NOT include any needles, which is great. The scan is quick, painless, and only $59.

What does it measure? Plaque can build up in the arteries, and over time, that plaque will become calcified (hard). The scanner measures how much hard plaque, if any, is in your heart. If calcified plaque is present, the computer software will calculate a number (or score) and that information will be used by your health care professional to determine your overall heart health and risk of a heart attack.

Who can get a calcium score? If you meet the criteria (such as age range, family history, high blood pressure, etc.), you do not need a doctor's order. Visit the links below to see the complete criteria and learn more about the scan.
