Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has lost funding starting this month. SNAP provides food benefits to low-income families so they can afford food. Dallas has over 312,000 SNAP recipients, many of which are in our own community. Even with talks of using emergency reserve funding, it’s not nearly as much as is needed and it will be delayed, meaning many families are struggling to get food.
