Identifying the mental barrier, in whatever area you want to be successful in requires self obsevations and self evaluations. Ok. What am I saying. Stop looking at what other people are doing wrong or right and FOCUS on you not procrastinating and looking at whatever distraction falls out of the sky....look and judge yourself. Stop having attention deficit because you don't want to force yourself to change your behaviors that only you control. I believe people do this so they don't have to look in the mirror of Truth....which can be painful and unsatisfying to ourselves. So, the best alternative is to avoid ourselves by shifting our attention and critiquing others ( which we do well). But NOW we are going to start gauging ourselves, facing the music of reality and feeling the storm of pain we never wanted to go through and never planned to go through. We just want to stay in the sun where it is warm and comfortable ( the bed of a mediocre Life). Don't get me wrong I understand that Life is hard and even after cracing ourselves from the hits of Life it can seem impossible to be resilient and bounnce back with power and motivation. I know. Rising above horrible or negative circumstances takes alot than we think we are capable of , especially with numerous failed attempts. But YOU MUST BE SUCCESSFUL! And success can be anything not just monetary. Success can be mere paeace of mind, calming emotons, a family, a house, a business, a degree, money in the bank, anything you say success is. Ok. Let's get started
1. Map out your Goal- Set your destination and go there. Put your emotions aside, they are irrelevant ( fear, anxiety) keep LOVE.Stay on course and to help do that...Journal. Write out a 30 day plan for each month up until your dream destination is fulfilled. Focus on doing 1 great thing for 3 months, 6 months or a year thats it. Nothing else all day every day...become obsessive with reaching your goal.
2. Gather Resources- Go to the people who can make a decision as to whether or not you will graduate. Their help is good. For example, I had the counselor to map out what classes I needed to graduate. Then I broke it down over the course of 2 years. I took 4-6 classes at the University and 4 to 6 classes at a local Community College. This was challenging but possible. I had to think about this for a few days to map it out exactly and precisely. I checked my grades with Instructors and checked on my Degree Plan with Counselors. I felt like I had to hurry up and graduate and get on with my Life. However, I enjoyed school. So I went on to get my M.ED and became a Ph.D Student for 2 years. Also, if you don't know what or how to do something ask someone who has done it, not GOOGLE. Google helps though. But you want the action learning not just the knowledge or wisdom, the been there done that and got it done person to help you.
3. Become 100% Accountable for your Success or Failure. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES!!! This is hard. I decided to take back my power from others who I felt were "doing this to me." My parents, my Ex, my backstabbing friends, etc and I made a conscious choice to decide that I will control me and my Success and no one else would. That is it. I got serious about me and my Life and I committed to myself (no relationships and dating) for 2 years in achieving this dream. In fact, there was one guy I would have liked to marry ( he was fine and handsome) but I sacrificed and let him go ( not calling, no time ofr him) and he eventually ended up marrying someone else . We met in Dallas and his Wife met him in Dallas and moved to Houston with him. But I was on a mission and felt like if it was meant to be GOD and I would have made it so. I didn't want to be in a relationship at this time. At the end of the day when you look at yourself in the mirror , ask yourself outloud ( Yes, I talk to myself-just a little though it is necessary-I DO NOT answer back...LOL) Did you take an action today that will contribute to my Dream? The end result should be YESS, nothing in between . Anything else is irrelevant and insignificant.
4. Mindset & Health- BE BRAVE AND TAKE CALCULATED RISKS.The shift of Belief; you must change your mindset. These steps will help you do that. Write and learn affirmations. If you are a Believer then I mix this with Scripture. Then believe your words are True and feel the Truth. The feeling is what attracts your desires and help your Dreams Come True. This lesson is first whatever you think and believe becomes the Truth. Speak what is to come, See it in your mind, write it down (this brings the dream into manifestation from within to the outside) and be (act) as if it is so. Secret #1 Do this until the dream is a reality and has manifested. Health your mind, body and soul ( your heart) all need each other. Keep your heart pure with good thoughts and take care of the 1 body you have. There is not another one coming around.I recommend exercise and herbs. Because as you get older you train your body to perform successfully. You want your body on auto drive of success and not taking time up living at Doctor's appointments. Love yourself , so others will love you. Do this by taking care of yourself, working out, eating healthy and speaking positively to yourself. People treat you the way you treat yourself!
5. My Laziness & My Discipline - NO TV! NO TV! Forget about it! Do yourself a favor for your life, get busy on Life and don't stop. I like to sleep. I know this about myself. You might lie to everyone else but never lie to yourself. Be Truthful with you. In fact I worked a few jobs and traveled as a Ronald E. McNair Scholar presenting published research on Communication and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I lived off of red bull and coffee. I am by no means promoting this technique but this is what I did. I woke up at 3:00 am ; if I even went to sleep. You do need to refuel your energy with sleep for healthiness. But when I slept I turned all electronics that could disturb my sleep off (phone, TV, radio, sleeping sign on the door, etc). No matter what I felt I did what I was suppose to do in that moment. I figured out how many hours of sleep I needed to feel at my best... it was 6 hours. How many are you, 4, 6, 8, etc? Here is the master plan in your hand.
