Can mediation still work if one party is in jail?
Many people assume the answer is no — but that’s not always true.
I recently worked with someone who wanted to finalize her divorce while the other party is incarcerated. Even with a protective order in place, mediation can still move forward safely through structured communication, phone, video, and coordination with the facility.
In Texas, inmates may even request mediation in certain family law cases.
In my latest blog, I explain:

✔ What information is needed
✔ When it may or may not be possible
Every situation is unique — but incarceration does not automatically eliminate options.
