The past few weeks have been much harder than the “normal” or “usual” disagreements and tragedies that come along.

I think it’s important to honor your feelings about all of this and to examine where you stand.

As therapists, we have many ethical obligations, including an obligation to “do no harm”. At The Northrop Connection, we’ll hold space for you to work through your feelings and to support our community at large to maintain emotional and physical safety.

Be safe, and be kind.

Well, friends, it looks like we've got some rough weather coming to our area in the next couple of days.

I just wanted to let you know that your therapists will remain available to you this week. We are reaching out to everyone who has an appointment for the remainder of this week to offer telehealth appointments for anyone who would feel safer that way.

In addition, we'll be monitoring road conditions, and we may need to close the office down entirely while we wait for the ice to melt.

In the meantime, we're open for business as usual today, and we'll be available to answer calls and emails as usual throughout the rest of the week, regardless of the weather.

We urge you to take time today to prepare for this storm as best as possible and to stay off the roads while ice is present!

Stay safe out there!

Finding Solutions

Jessica Northrop has been providing mental health services since 2000. She holds active licenses in the states of Georgia and Florida and is fully insured. She began this work with the simple desire to help others. From a young age, she was always the one that friends confided in and that adults trusted. She has been able to combine her natural ability to establish rapport, listen, and show empathy with years of education, research, and skills in order to help clients achieve their goals. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. Now, she is viewed as an expert and trusted advisor in the areas of trauma, personality disorders, addiction, special needs of veterans and families, and insomnia. She has extensive experience working with military veterans from eras as early as WWII and as recent as OEF and offers a discounted rate for military veterans and families upon request.

The truth of the matter is that nobody really wants therapy, just as nobody really wants a shot, surgery, or any other medical procedure. What people want is relief.

Relief from stress.
