Shifting body fat, weight gain, and difficulty losing weight are the biggest frustrations I hear from perimenopausal women.

It is due to loss of estrogen, increased insulin resistance, slowing metabolism, and increased propensity to store fat.

Solution
- lower calorie intake (~1300 calories a day)
- increase lean mass through weight training
- increase consumption of fresh fruits, fresh veggies, and protein
***start the lifestyle changes early***
