When Nicole came to see me, she showed me a photo of her upper arms because she was worried about skin laxity and that “loose” appearance that had been developing over time.
After evaluating her skin, I explained that what she was experiencing is very common during the early stages of perimenopause. Hormonal changes during this phase affect collagen production, and when collagen goes down, the skin becomes thinner, softer, and less supported.
I also explained that this type of laxity isn’t something we fix with workouts, diets, or creams alone because the issue isn’t just muscle or fat, it’s the skin’s internal structure.
For Nicole, I recommended a combination treatment plan that targets the problem from multiple angles:
✨ Muscle toning (to support the area)
✨ Radiofrequency skin tightening (to improve firmness)
✨ Collagen biostimulation (to rebuild thickness and strength from within)
I always remind my patients that collagen takes time usually 6–8 weeks for initial results but the goal is a beautifully smooth, firm, and strong arm that looks and feels amazing at 55
