I get that it’s hot and I get that we don’t look as cute as this guy when we’re sweaty, but GO OUTSIDE! 🌞A clinical study done in 2018 found that the prevalence of myopia, or nearsightedness, tends to be lower among children who spend more time outdoors. Being outdoors is good for the mind, body, and eyes!

This photo was taken 3 years ago today, at my graduation from 💕 Though the picture brings me a lot of happiness, I feel for those who were unable to celebrate this time with their classmates and colleagues. The excitement of hearing your name called before you walk across the stage, listening to the cheers from your family and friends in the crowd, and the endless photos to eternalize this moment have all been taken away from them due to the crisis our country is in right now. 💔 To the new grads, I know it’s upsetting, but I also want you to know that it does NOT undermine the hard work and effort you’ve put in to achieve this goal. Classes, clinics, exam weeks, boards, externships...it is not for the faint of heart. You have conquered it all and you’re now a Doctor of Optometry. As your new colleague, I am so very proud of you, and you should be too! Congrats to all of the new 2020 optometry graduates! Welcome to this beautifully exciting profession! 🎉
