👋 What inspired you to work with neurodivergent clients?
I worked in the nonprofit world with neurodivergent adults and adults with unique abilities after graduating college. I saw a gap in counseling as people I worked with struggled to find therapy that fit their individualized needs. Since then it has been my joy to grow in skills to combine mental health counseling and the specific strengths and challenges that can come with being on the neurodivergent spectrum!
🩵 How would you describe your therapy style?
I hope to bring a genuine and creative style to counseling. Therapy doesn’t have to be stuffy- I strive to meet my clients wherever they are, whether that be on their hardest days or days where they just need a laugh!
☀️ How do you recharge and practice self care?
Being outside in the sun, getting frequent and fun forms of movement in, and baking a yummy seasonal dessert all fill up my cup!
💬 What’s something clients have told you they appreciate about you?
I have been told that my demeanor is calming and that my relational style and warmth make clients who are nervous feel comfortable opening up in counseling.
🌈 What’s a core value that guides your work as a therapist?
An important value in counseling for me is collaboration. I never want my clients to feel like I’m in charge- but instead like we are a team working together to investigate what might be most helpful.
🛋️ What’s something in your office that brings you joy?
My floral wallpaper makes me happy every time I walk in, and my basket of fidgets brings focus and regulation for both me and my clients!
