A little fly told us the opening day of trout is almost here, so we decided to have a fly fishing introduction to get you ready for the big day.
Join us Saturday, March 26 at 12pm for the brewery’s first ever fish and sips!
We will be giving an introduction to and going over the basics of fly fishing.
Brent Hizny will be our speaker for the day.
Always having a love for fishing and the outdoors, at the age of 10 Brent’s passion for fly fishing began and it continued to grow from there.
In 2015 Brent traveled to Montana where he attended a guiding school. From there he worked at a ranch in Colorado as a flyfishing guide helping clients catch trout in streams and Alpine Lakes of Colorado.
Brent has traveled to several places in the United States to fish in many different bodies of water. Brent also spent three months traveling and fly fishing around beautiful New Zealand.
Currently residing in Pennsylvania, Brent can often be found in any river, creek, or lake fishing. Brent also travels to Canada during the summer months where he is a fishing guide for Bushland Adventures where northern pike and walleye are the main species fished.
So join us on March 26 at 12:00, as Brent discusses the basics of fly fishing. He will help us gain knowledge about different flies to use and why , different rod types, different types of fly line and how to properly set a fly rod up. Following the discussion while also sipping on some Back Mountain brews, we will head outside for a demonstration on casting techniques.
